Used for professional painters. That I am not... Beginner paint by number (on canvas) had me painting the same spot four times to cover the numbers! Dark colors could not be covered by lighter colors. Gesso stops the paint from soaking into the medium. It allows you to repair mistakes. I use it on every level of paint by number. BE CAREFUL. It mostly comes in a white color. ASK FOR THE TRANSPARENT. You want to see the numbers after applying. It does make a difference.

Using it. Like it. Easy to apply.So far I've experimented it on paper, fabric, wood, stones and slate. It works.But clean the edge of the tub before placing lid back on or it will be hard to open it again.

I have Amazon Prime membership, so when I went to local stores for price comparison, I felt I was getting the best price for the amount from Amazon.My reason for buying this was because I recently started doing an "altered book" project, and wanted some things to show through clearly that I was coating with it.The consistency and quality seem very good.My only complaint is that it has a very strong odor that seems to build on my altered book instead of going away even weeks after applying.
