At first couldn't get the auto focus then I find out all you have to do is turn the lens ring to get the focus right.

This product was sent to me for review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.I was particularly drawn it to because I do have an interest in using a lot of different kinds of camera equipment, however, I am more of a hobbyist, and by no means experienced, so my review will be coming from a very novice angle. At first glance, the set seems like it would be ideal for someone just starting out (especially given the price point vs. other cameras out there). It has a nice bundle of accessories included (such as a memory card - not often supplied in the box - and a remote shutter trigger). There are also some 'desirable' features on the device (like the ability to wirelessly send the camera's pictures to your phone, using the 'Ordro' app - great for social media users). In terms of build quality, I felt the camera itself was on the flimsy side. It's very lightweight, and some of the finish was a little rough in places (especially around the lens, which is completely fixed into the body - it doesn't move at all, so the zoom is entirely digital). I would be concerned about what might happen should the camera suffer a sudden, hard impact. One upshot of this I suppose, is that it is compact enough to store inside a camera bag, and wouldn't be too difficult to carry around.Next, upon trying to navigate the camera's menus, I found some limitations that could be frustrating for the average user. Instead of having all of the modes within one 'wheel', you have to use the directional buttons to move between different 'wheels', in order to find the desired mode. I wouldn't say that this is intuitive; rather more clunky, and time-consuming. There was more than one occasion where I just couldn't find the mode I wanted, or I had switched to the wrong menu by accident. When you're out shooting in the field, you don't want to miss any opportunities - messing about with menus won't help with that.Unfortunately, I don't think either the photo or video quality match up to the performance claimed on the listing. I felt that photos were too soft, and had an obvious amount of digital sharpening, which could look harsh, at times. Videos were shaky (despite using the stabilisation settings), and picked up an awful lot of background/wind noise on the camera's microphone. You could use an external microphone to remedy this, of course, and the tripod mount is useful for attaching accessories which will provide more stability.Other than the above, the battery life seemed fine, whilst recharging it is straightforward thanks to its USB compatibility. I did have some issues getting the app to recognise the camera, however I was able to get it working on the second try, and had sent photos to my phone within a couple of minutes. In summary, it is a perfectly usable camera, but, you could probably find one with better quality for a similar price elsewhere - some improvements are definitely needed.

This is a reasonably OK to good camera, which has all the functions which you would expect in a standard vlogging camera. The specifications aren't especially well documented, both on the Amazon website, or even on the Ordro website. For example, it appears to have an 8 megapixel Sony CMOS sensor, but why then do the settings allow you to take photos (apparently) up to 60 megapixels. Presumably by interpolation. What is the physical size of the image sensor? This isn't documented anywhere. Also, for the zoom range, they say it has up to 12x zoom, but what is the minimum zoom as a 35mm equivalent. In terms of hardware, it comes with 2 batteries, lens cover, a remote control, a 64GB SD Card, USB Cable, and a card reader. The camera has a 270deg swivel rotating touch-screen, which works nicely, but has slightly harsh contrast.Functions & Features which the camera has...- Auto modes / Shutter Priority / Aperture Priority / Manual Mode / Macro Mode / Night Vision Mode- Scene Modes (eg. Portrait / Night Portrait / Landscape / Food / Sunset / Backlight / Sports).- ISO 100 - ISO 3200- Auto-Focus / Manual Focus- Focus Ring on the lens, which can be used for manual focus.- 5K Video capability (5120 x 2880)- Exposure Compensation- High Dynamic Range (WDR)- White Balance (incl manual Kelvin setting)- Various Colour Filtres- USB C interface with computer.- Micro HDMI Socket for output to a monitor- Microphone Input for an external microphone.- Hot Shoe on the top for flash guns & lights.- Wifi Connection to your smartphone via OD Cam App (for both photo download & camera control).Things which the camera doesn't have...- No built in flash. Although it does have the hot-shoe.- No 3:2 photo aspect ratio (only 4:3 & 16:9)- No continuous shooting mode on the camera. (Just 1 3 5 or 7 shots at a time or Timer).- You can't take photos while the camera is shooting videoThings which the camera does reasonably well...- Regular simple (non-demanding photos)- Nighttime infrared photos- Macro Photographs- Video recording- Build quality is reasonableThings which are not done especially well !!- Quite slow to turn on and get ready to shoot. (8 seconds from on to first photo taken).- Quite slow from shutter press until photo taken (approx 1 second). Poor choice for photos of children or wildlife.- Quite slow to zoom in and out, taking about 6 seconds to cover the full optical part of the zoom. That doesn't include the digital zoom, which is a further 2 seconds.- If you zoom in while shooting video, then the camera can lose focus for a while (improves if you half press shutter).- Camera grip isn't the most comfortable - especially with one hand. Not bad, but other cameras are better.- Camera beep is too loud & piercing, even on the lowest volume. (You can switch it off completely though).- Focus Lock Beep - Also too loud & piercing.- The white colour of this camera will divide opinion. Most people will prefer the black camera.- Audio quality reasonably good - but there is some hum. You will get better quality with an external microphone. Most bloggers would do this anyway.- Photos which you take are not flashed up on the screen. Not even for a second. I would like to see this option available. The picture does freeze for a moment as it is being written to the card. Finally, the figures printed on the front of the lens are mixed up. The 'F' and 'f' values are written the wrong way around !!The lens says = F 1.8 - 2.6 f 5.76 - 69.12mm. I presume they mean : f 1.8 - 2.6 F 5.76 - 69.12mm('f' or 'f-stop' is talking about the aperture. 'F' is talking about the focal length). My most serious concerns with the camera involve low light noise, file naming, and the significantly poor 'wide-angle'...- Bad Digital Noise... In low light, there is an unusual amount of digital noise in the photos. The sensor is 8MP and probably quite small, so the setting where you can select 60MP is pointless, and just introduces a high level of interpolation artifacts - and more noise. Looking at 60MP photos fully zoomed in shows shocking noise & artifacts.- File Naming Convention... Files are Named FILE0001 - FILE0002 - FILE0003 - etc...These days it should be possible to name photos according to the date and time. Unfortunately not with this camera !! Worst of all, when you transfer all your photos off the card, file naming restarts again at FILE0001 - FILE0002 - FILE0003. That means less savvy people copying their photos off the card to the same folder 'without first renaming them' run the risk of over-writing old photos, and thus deleting them for ever.- Poor Wide Angle... The camera doesn't have sufficient 'wide-angle'. It is way too zoomed in, even on the minimum setting. Putting my usual Olympus camera side by side with this, I had to zoom in to 2x on the Olympus to get the same view as the minimum zoom on the Ordro. When 1 metre away, the full width of the Ordro field of view is only 62cm. At 1 metre, my Olympus will photograph 135cm field of view - more than double the Ordro. It means that you can only just get your own head into a selfie. If you try to get 2 people's heads into a selfie, then it will cut off parts of people's heads, unless they get 'really close'.In summary, as a vlogging camera, this is fine. You should ensure you have good lighting conditions, and use an external microphone. As a general purpose camera, it underperforms in multiple ways. Unless price is one of the most important issues, you should aim to invest in a camera from a more established brand.
