I had to order this 3 time before i actually got the correct item. when it did arrive i wired it up and it will charge a phone, BUT the "smart charging" feature that is supposed to prevent you bikes battery from dying does not work... at all. I have a fully charged AGM battery in the bike. wired in the charger professionally (beyond that i have a BA in electrical engineering) it killed the battery in 3 days. that with the bike being driven for about 40 minutes each day. voltage on the battery got down to 6.7v which is well below when the unit is suppose to cut off power. nothing was even plugged in. SAVE YOUR MONEY. a simple non "smart:" port is a far better option with a switch installed or power derived from ignition or acc based circuits. considering the cost compared to the other option this is insane. i would have returned it again but ran out of time to uninstall it from the bike.

Tried ordering this specific SKU twice and was sent a completely different Optimate product each time. Probably some kind of labelling error in the Amazon co-mingled inventory, not an intentional bait-and-switch by any specific seller. Amazon customer service was less than helpful, including an unpaid refund on my second return. Ended up ordering on a different site entirely.If you're lucky enough to actually get *this* device when you order one, I can attest they do exactly what they say on the tin; it's a great way to wire a phone charger to a motorcycle. No complaints with the manufacturer, only the seller(s)/Amazon.

Ne vous fiez pas à leur mention qui dit que ce chargeur fonctionne avec les batteries traditionnelles plomb-acide et lithium. Ça fonctionne uniquement avec les batteries traditionnelles. Après quelques utilisations le chargeur ne charge plus, même après remplacement c'est le même problème

Using this to supply USC-C power to the Peak Design Qi2 1 inch ball mount. Works as advertised and supplies enough power for the charger and no more almost dead phone after providing mapping all day.

It's built very well. Lots of anti vibration / strain relief. It turns on automatically when the voltage is above ~13.3V. It turns off when the voltage is below that threshold or if it's been an hour since the bike was running. I don't have the little paper manual with me to double check, but I'm pretty sure that was the jist of it. Not sure how it determines AGM / flooded, perhaps just the voltage? I don't think you can use this as a smart trickle charger, as i thought you could from the picture. Using it on my Samsung S10, it's charging it enough that the phone isn't complaining.
