Ich hatte diese Halterung aus Neugierde bestellt, um die Einsatzmöglichkeiten bewerten zu können. Der Artikel wurde kurzfristig in einer festen Kartonage geliefert.Nach einfacher Montage der Einzelkomponenten habe ich dann mehrere Endgeräte in die Halterung eingesetzt. Mit kleineren Geräten wie Smartphones oder Tablets bis 7 Zoll sehe ich durchaus gute Einsatzmöglichkeiten. Darüber hinaus - wie z.B. die Verwendung eines iPad - sehe ich mittlerweile als kritisch an. Wenn ich mir vorstelle, dass ein Gerät mit oder ohne Halterung bei einem Fahrunfall durch das Cockpit saust, kommen mir doch Bedenken. Auch wenn die Halterung gut verarbeitet ist und einen stabilen Endruck macht, so bin ich für mich zu dem Ergebnis gekommen, dass ich diese Halterung nicht in einem Fahrzeug verwenden werde. Die Verwendung auf einem anderen glatten Untergrund wie Wandfliesen in der Küche kann ich mir schon eher vorstellen.Auch wenn mich das Prinzip dieser Lösung und die gute Qualität nicht überzeugt hat, so bewerte ich das Produkt hier objektiv nur auf seine Eigenschaften und den Preis, der derzeit sogar mit unter 20€ recht günstig ist. Den Abzug in der Bewertung gibt es von mir lediglich für den Gesamteindruck der mechanischen Ausführung.

Bought this to try on our boat windshield but there was no way it would last over time with rain and bumpy rides. The adjustable arm was very sturdy but the suction cup likely would fail. Would probably work great in a car or truck though.

This is a sturdy tablet / phone holder with flexible mounting options and some good design features. The gooseneck arm is surprisingly stiff yet flexible enough to bend into various shapes, and it seems to hold its position after bending. Although, especially for vehicle use where a lot of bumping would be expected, you might want to use one of two of the included stick-on stabilizers to help it hold position when a heavy tablet is attached. The angle of the arm in the suction mount can also be adjusted through 180° for further flexibility in positioning. The gooseneck is mounted to a surface using a suction cup. I missed it on the sales page, but the suction cup has a very sticky surface to help with the adhesion. According to the instructions on the sales page, this surface can be washed to renew the stickiness if it gets dirty. They also provide a smooth plate with screw holes which you can mount to a rougher surface so you’ll still have a good mount for the suction cup. The tablet / phone clamp piece of this mount has rubber pads on all 4 clamping surfaces to protect your device. The clamps also have a gap in the middle to allow the connection of a charging cable. One end of the clamp is spring loaded. The other end has a push button release for expansion, and then it ratchets back and holds position as you push it to the proper size for the tablet / phone. The clamp can expand from 4.6” to 9.2”, allowing it to work with most phones held on the top and bottom and with most tablets held on the sides. However, this is a pretty heavy duty holder and perhaps overkill if you only plan to use it for a phone. The tablet holder is attached to the gooseneck by a swivel ball and clamp which allows it to be rotated to portrait or landscape orientation and also allows the angle of the screen to be changed. I didn’t see it mentioned on the sales page, but the tablet mount piece also has a standard 1/4” threaded hole to allow it to be mounted to a tripod instead of to the gooseneck. Although, oddly, the mounting hole is located on the spring-loaded piece which is labeled “up” instead of on the bottom where you might expect it. My intention for using this tablet holder was a little different than its primary use in a vehicle. I ordered this to use to mount an iPad next to an exercise bike in order to watch videos while exercising. I was going to try to use the suction cup to hold the mount on a wooden barstool placed next to the bike. However, after I ordered this, I discovered a tripod-mount tablet holder and decided that would be more stable than putting this on a bar stool. In addition, to me at least, the sticky suction cup mounting, which I didn’t realize it used until I got this, seems more suitable for long term mounting rather than something that I would attach and remove frequently. I also didn’t realize that this mount had a tripod mounting option, or I might have used that. Although the way this mounts to a tripod, it might block the charging hole, depending on how the device was held in the clamp. So, for those reasons, I am ultimately using the other tripod mount rather than this one. But I wanted to review this since it still seems like a good choice for a semi-permanent mounting use such as in a vehicle. Plus, as I am writing this at least, it is on sale for 1/2 price.

Easy to install using the suction cup, I've had this mount installed onto my windshield for over a week now with no issues. Suction cup seems strong, it hasn't fallen of yet so design is good. We've had plenty of temperature fluctuation here in Colorado this Spring, it was freezing last week and then in the 70's this week. Normally, these suction cup mounts can't handle drastic temperature changes and just fall off but so far no issues. Long term, I would always use the 3M sticky tape as suction cups will always eventually fall off no matter what unless you occasionally redo the suction cup.My phone fits into it fine and this is advertised to hold tablets, I guess you could but it works for phones as well. I normally prefer the magnet magsafe car mounts as my phone has a magsafe case but I wanted to try this mount out just to see how it worked. It works as advertised and if you can't or don't want to use a magnet based car phone mount this mount would work as an alternative. You just have to spread the gripping clamps apart then stick your phone in so it can clamp down onto it which is kind of a pain to do every time you hop into your car, which is why I prefer magnet mounts but magnet mounts don't work the best for large heavy tablets. That's why this product is advertised to be of better use for tablets, so I'm not going to mark it down at all as a phone mount. It seems solid and decent value for the money.
