I was a bit startled when I received this clock. It is very pretty but it is plastic through and through. It weighs just over 1 pound . My first impression was "no way would I spend 30 some bucks on this clock". Maybe half of asking price would be more appropriate because I really don't think the quality matches the price.On the plus side, it really does look nice. The housing does look like wood. At a distance it's hard to tell it's not real wood and I like how it has been antiqued. It's also a nice size for a mantle or a book case. The clock face is also quite pretty. The backdrop looks like antique ivory parchment and the hands are a lovely filagree. The clock has as second hand, which is not a feature you find on a lot of decorative clocks today. This clock does not make any noise - no ticking and no noise when the hands go around the face - which is terrific since this clock is going to live on a bookshelf in my home office. I do give the clock high ratings for style but the quality of the product does not match the price.

This is an aesthetically pleasing mantel clock with a good-sized clock face. The overall size is also nice - large enough to have a presence without being bulky. I really love that it runs silent as it doesn't compete for attention with the other clock in the same room that ticks and chimes. The clock runs on a single AA battery and is extremely easy to set.The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is very lightweight. Since the back is hollow, there is an opportunity to add some weight in the recess and I may decide to do this. The plastic shell of the clock definitely gives itself away when touched, so I have chosen a location that will be out of reach.Overall, I'm pleased with this piece. It's decently priced and of good quality. It's also convincing enough from a few feet away to pass as a much higher quality clock than it is.

This clock was very easy to set once the battery was installed. The clock itself is VERY lightweight so it's great to place just about anywhere around the house. I really liked the classic old-time look of this clock. The face is a nice enough size to see from a good distance away to make out the time. I wouldn't mind if it did have a chime but this does not as it was mentioned in the description.

It is pretty, it has a classic look and lines to it. It fits with most every style. It really is silent. I heard nothing from the clock. It has a nice weight so it will not be tipping over. It is not wood. It is plastic, so put this where people will not touch it. It does add a nice touch to any room and would make a perfect gift.
