Not bad for the money. It’s not perfect quality but it’s fairly reliable and gives a good picture in a variety of lighting conditions.

Do not buy this! When it works the lag is about 10-15 seconds which is barely acceptable when you're monitoring a baby, but it regularly doesn't work or stay connected. To top it off the latest app update (Hubble for Motorola Monitors - v6.0.2) which came out 2 days after my 1 year warranty expired has bricked the camera (app sees the camera as permanently off with no way to turn it on) - Motorola have admitted this is an issue with their app and their response is to wait for the next version which will fix it - I'll just tell my baby not to move for 3 weeks (and counting) shall I whilst I wait???I've had to buy a replacement, so this is now a very expensive paperweight. The replacement was half the price, better picture, no lag, instant easy connection, easy to use app......you get the picture.If you are tempted to buy this, please read all the other reviews on the net for this camera and app first - it is the most buggy camera and app duo available, which is a shame because aesthetically the camera looks good, it just fails in every other respect.In response to the manufacturers comment to this review below:I have been in regular contact with the Motorola support team throughout the month it took you to admit it was a fault with your camera/app, and then to get a working update of the app released. The last response I got was:"I hope the camera will at least serve as a good backup camera.......you may want to return it to the store. I am afraid that Motorola does not offer refunds."I didn't spend a lot of money on a camera to have it as a backup! Amazon won't accept the return of a product over a year old, and the manufacturer has taken no liability for providing any refund or goodwill gesture. I certainly won't be touching anything with the Motorola brand on it in the future. Congratulations Motorola on the monumental fail!!

It may not be the quickest of cameras to pan, and the infrared doesn’t capture motion very well but these work well for me and they do at least pan where most cameras I looked at were static.I’ve bought a few of these now for watching the dogs.

The app is buggy. While you can us it in offline mode (local area network only) it posts an error message and eventually craps out. The streaming quality is not 720p, the options on the camera are extremely limited. The camera stopped responding several times and only a power off and back on would restore it to working order. We trailed this for almost a month but in the end sent it back and purchased a regular IP camera - the Amcrest ProHD 1080P WiFi Wireless IP Security Camera. This is far better quality, has optical zoom has all the settings you could hope for to fiddle with and works flawlessly on numerous devices (although have to return the first one for dead power supply so not all roses...).The Motorola may be convenient for those with literally no technical ability and don't mind there camera being accessible to the outside world but it is frustratingly limited and ridiculously overpriced for what it is.

I was impressed how easy this was to use and the image quality.I got this as part of a package with the monitor and another camera as I wanted to be able to have a camera upstairs and down, where the baby sleeps and where it plays, without having to unplug and put it in a different location.This system works really well. Although I am technically minded, I did not need any particular skills to get this set up.The screen resolution is really good, especially if the room is light. In the night vision mode, the resolution is more than adequate to clearly see what a baby or child is doing. Some reviews mention that the refresh rate is not great in the night vision mode but I really don't see what the concern is. It isn't for broadcasting, it is to see whether there is anything of concern occurring.Pairing the unit and camera were easy enough, make sure you have the screen near the camera at first. I now have one camera in an upstairs bedroom and another downstairs and I have found no issues with connecting or particular time lag.There is a noticeable delay between inputting movements in to the camera and the action occurring, however once again, it is unlikely to be bothersome for the purpose I have this.Overall, I have been really pleased with this and unlike some systems, one is not forced in to buying a subscription in order to be able to view these through the app.After having this for eight weeks - I would definitely recommend this, though not with the monitor, The monitor battery dies quicker than a lemming after its heard some particularly bad news. So, you have to keep the monitor plugged in almost constantly to make it usable. If that were not annoying enough, then it would bleep loudly as though it had lost the signal connection, even when it hadn't. Annoying is an understatement. Pointless and a waste of money. I tried contacting the manufacturer and got no response, so Amazon took responsibility for the return of the monitor. Still keeping the camera though, as that works fine with my tablet.
