I have 1980 Chevy Impala with a TH350 turbo transmission. After having a leak from the transmission oil pan at the seal. I thought about buy a new gasket from a local automotive store. The local automotive stores only had the cork type gaskets in stock. Being the owner of the car for 8 years I learned to hate cork gasket. There poor quality and unreliable when installing. This gasket is high quality, durable and at a reasonable. It's simple to install. No sealant required, and easy to lineup the thread holes without it moving while trying to install. Normally I don't write product review. But if your in need of a gasket for your TH350 transmission pan this is the only one to buy. Undeniable 5 stars.

I’ve seen several reviews on this gasket (mostly good) BUT some......not so good. I was also in the NOT so good group at first. That was until I figured out what was really going on. At the end of the day......if you install this gasket and discover the dreaded red ATF drip in your driveway a day later I can confidently say from lots of experience that your NOT chasing a pan gasket leak!My TH350 in my 79 Trans Am has developed a ridiculous leak after winter storage. It sure looked like it was seeping and leaking from the pan gasket. I grabbed this high qualityMorroso off amazon and installed with ease. All went well and it APPEARED the leak was gone. 3 days later.....noticed another red puddle under the car. WTF?? Leaking around the pan again??Pulled the pan went to local auto parts store and purchased a standard gasket by Felpro $12. Installed it with some red RTV and once again leak APPEARED to be gone. 3 days later.....another red puddle!! WTF???Then I was able to really spot the issue. The “shift shaft seal” (say that 3 times real fast) was weeping. It wouldn’t have mattered WHAT gasket i used. It weeps down and runs into the seems of the gasket. Giving you the illusion that the gasket Itself is leaking. So you tighten and over torque your pan bolts making matters worse. You could absolutely swear and bet your life on your pan gasket being the culprit when your shift shaft seal leaksNo need to drop your tranny to replace the shift shaft seal. The bad seal is tiny and cost $3 at the auto store. Depending on your exhaust or headers, you may or may not need to remove those to gain access. I purchased a kit that re-sleeved the shaft and installed a new seal. Been leak free ever since!!So while, at first, I thought the Morroso gasket was just another expensive attempt at repairing my leak, the gasket itself was never to blame in the first place! There are so many leak points in a TH350. The tail shaft alone has 2. There is a O ring around the speedometer housing that can leak. A seal where the drive shaft enters the tranny. Usually those 2 leaks are obvious. There are also 2 more. Where the dipstick enters the tranny is a seal (or O ring) Lastly another seal where the kick down cable enters the tranny.Moral of my story....if ANY of those points mentioned above have a bad seal.....it will give you the illusion that your pan gasket is leaking when in fact it’s not. After addressing my bad seal i put the Morroso back In dry (no RTV) and we are leak free. I like how the Morroso is a RE-usable gasket for future drain and fillsBest of luck
