The item looks better quality than the picture, machined out of a solid piece of brass & it looks like it will last a lifetime. There are no valves in this, so you need to connect it to the torch before the gas bottle to avoid gas leaking. I used it on a weed burner & had to get it because I was given the wrong gas as a gift. There is a cheaper adapter on Amazon, but that wouldn't work with my weed burner or my blowlamp. As a bonus my weed burner has more power with this item & the slightly bigger gas bottles.

Sealing washer is very thin keeps falling out and is easy to loose. Washers on other torches with this fitting are much thicker and stay in place.

Firstly, delivery was excellent having received this adapter the day after it was ordered.Generally pleased with quality, and was able to finish the task, but there was a problem when trying to disconnect from the gas cylinder.Gripping the adapter when removing from gas cylinder was difficult, hence dangerous, because the safety skirt on my blowlamp attachment covered the adapter and prevented use of standard hand tools. Increase in overall length by 20mm might be the simplest solution to provide either some knurling or a second set of spanner flats/cheeks to provide for a positive grip.

Purchased this to adapt the yellow Mapp gas cylinders and make them fit the Rothenberg blowtorch i have. The torch normally uses the silver butane/propane cylinders, which although are cheaper, are not as hot as Mapp gas.I was unsure if this would work, but it does so very well.The torch screws to the adapter easily, although it does need a hefty push onto the threads of the mapp gas to get it started, possibly the safety tube a little longer than normal on the adapter.Very happy works well.
