If you own calipers, invest in one of these to make sure you are not suffering any age or damage related measurement creep.I had a colleague who always professed that all calipers were the same, and that I had overpaid on my Mittatoyo Ip67 calipers. He had a sub £50 pair he swore by. After checking with this, it seems his pair have been reading wrong by about 0.1-0.06mm since he got them which explains a lot of mistakes when reverse engineering parts. If he had known his error factor he could have corrected it. My 7 year old ip67 calipers were bang on still. Worth every penny to prove that.
