What I like about these pliers is that they are lightweight. The spring loaded feature is nice as well. They are very comfortable to use, and fit in my hand perfectly. The cutter is nice and sharp and works great. The split ring feature is handy as well for repairing broken hooks on lures or for lure building. The only downside is that the pliers won't work well if you need to grip something with just the tip of the pliers. That's because of the split ring feature. So you will still need to carry an extra set of regular needle nose pliers if you want that feature. The carrying case is nice and heavy duty as well. Has a nice strong clip that clips right to my tackle bag. It latches nice and tight to my tackle bag.

Really great set of fishing pliers. The longer tips give you a little extra reach, with out being as awkward as long nose pliers.Cuts braided line easily and the cutter can be adjusted slightly, if needed.Very well constructed, but light weight. There is no slop or play in them. Very solid. The sheath hold the pliers securely.The only minor negative is the plastic locking mechanism. It doesn't always stay locked and occasionally gets in the way. I decided to just unscrew and remove it. It's not necessary with the sheath.High quality and inexpensive. Buy two.

The pliers are very well made and light weight. They are larger than many fishing pliers offered on Amason which is good as they fit the hand comfortably and have plenty of reach to extract hooks. These are really nice for the asking price, a definite step up from most in this price range. The case is nice but as others have said the lock on the pliers tends to catch and unlock when you put them into the case, I solved this problem by sanding away the grip part of the locking tab with a Dremel so now it doesn't rub on the case. Just sand a bit at a time till it stops rubbing, it doesn't take much and it doesn't affect strength or function.
