A very good deal. It may not be AF but it is a 1.2 lens and a good deal...

The lens is defective, f-stop ring turns freely and it is suppose to click in place, hard to focus without movingthe ring. I want to return it and get my money refunded, thank you.Earnest Botello

This is a great lens. It's sharp but not like a G-master. It certainly gets the job done. The only thing I don't like is how short the focus ring is. On other "dead" lenses I've seen you have to turn the focus a couple times around to get from one end of the range to the other. It makes it hard to nail focus like that. If it weren't for the a7iii having micro focus I don't know if this lens would be usable for any commerical applications.

I have been testing this Meke lens with my Panasonic S1 and I really love it. To start out I personally prefer autofocus lenses because of the versatility and speed but with mirrorless focus peaking this makes manual focus a breezed compared to the manual film camera from the past and DSLR. I feel that mirrorless with auto focus peaking is the perfect camera to use with manual focus lenses because you can see clearly the focus plan with minimal guess. On to the lens, let’s first talk about the build quality, it has an all aluminum body that is sturdy and well build especially consider the price point. The focus and aperture rings are smooth and easy glide with minimal tension or resistance but they are not loose either. The feel is amazing and to simply put, I never thought that I would like a manual lens this much. Each of the rings have a quarter turn radius, meaning that you are not spinning the rings forever to get focus to change the aperture. Being that it is a manual lens when you first mount it on the camera and turn it on it will ask what focal length lens is mounted so that the IBIS and other systems can compensate accordingly. The focal length dialog would should up with every subsequent power on but can simply be dismiss with a half press of the shutter button. The aperture would show on the camera as 0.0 because you have to adjust it on the lens and there are no CPU contact points which is why you have to enter the focal length in manually. But the great thing about the setup is that the camera still meter the light through the less and does it accurately, which makes photographing a breeze. To makes things easier for me, I set the camera to aperture priority since the camera sees 0.0 but I can adjust that on the ring this is the perfect mode to use. From there the camera would adjust the shutter speed automatically and you can use this with a fixed or auto ISO, depending on your preference. As I mentioned already the lens is well build, the image even at f/1.2 is sharp and overall image contrast is great. At some extreme angle to the sun or really bright light source the lens does have a tendency to show to flair even with the hood on. This happens with every lens but I have to say that I love the flair looks on this lens and don’t mind it at all. It does not show up that often in most shooting scenario and it is not bothersome at all. The bokeh on this lens is decent and does a good job rendering out of focus background. Overall, the best part of this lens is the f/1.2 it is wide open and really allows you to throw the background out of focus. If you are looking for a good wide opening 50 mm, I would highly consider this lens.
