As expected, this lens delivers both incredibly sharp photos with beautiful bokeh. The quality is impressive, especially for the price. I’m using it on a Canon R6MII and I love the way that the focus indicator works seamlessly and allows you to zero in on your subject. I have quite a few manual as well as auto focus lenses and this is one of my favorites!

Ich wollte ein Objektiv mit möglichst großer Blende, für Portraits und um mit der Schärfentiefe zu experimentieren. Das Meike macht Laune und ist schon speziell, aber eben auch bezahlbar. Ich habe lange gesucht und nichts verhältnismäßig besseres gefunden.Ich habe ein paar Fotos mit offener Blende angefügt. Ist vielleicht Geschmackssache, aber mir gefällt das Bokeh. Die Aufnahmen sind mit einer Canon R8 mit RF Anschluss und wenig bearbeitet.Technisch liegt das Objektiv gut in der Hand, ist relativ schwer und solide aus Vollmetall und viel Glas. Der Kameraanschluss ist präzise, die Ringe bewegen sich satt ohne Spiel. Der Fokusring lässt sich minimal über Unendlich hinaus drehen, auf den Anschlag kann man sich nicht verlassen. Die mitgelieferte Gegenlichtblende hat keine Verriegelung ist aber stabil, lässt sich fürs Wegpacken umdrehen, sitzt dann aber wackelig und verdeckt auch den Blendenring. Mit F1.2 und Gegenlichblende meine ich eine leichte Vignettierung zu sehen, aber das Objektiv ist tatsächlich vollformattauglich. Zeitautomatik und MF Peaking macht die Bedienung weniger aufwändig als man meint, wobei man auch gleich den Schärfebereich erkennen und anpassen kann.Mein Fazit: verdient einen Platz in der Kameratasche für spezielle Situationen.

This is my second Meike lens, so I wasn't surprised at the solid feel and build of this lens. It has some heft to it, but fits well and feels balanced on my Canon EOS RP. It also doesn't feel or look cheap, like some of the Canon lenses can.I took my Meike 50mm f/1.2 out on a cloudy, overcast day for a rural drive. Even though I typically look for good evening sun or golden hour for these type of drives, this lens makes even a dull, dreary midday an adventure with it's amazing bokeh abilities, and performance in low-light. You can have fun with a lens like this by getting close up, and making that f/1.2 work for you with excellent sharpness on the subject, but a nice, soft background. It makes you look at the mundane differently, and allows you to get some very creative shots that you normally might pass by. I love the way the lens makes me WORK the scene, much like a film camera, I pay more attention to details, depth of field, etc that make photography fun for me. Well worth the small investment given the high costs of most RF mount lenses. Very happy with this lens and look forward to using it for street photography and portraits as well.
