I've tried a few different yoyos courtesy of the Amazon Vine program including others under the 'Magicyoyo' brand. This one is initially a responsive yoyo - i.e. one for beginners or kids as it's much simpler to use than a non-responsive yoyo. With a responsive yoyo it's easier to get the yoyo back to the starting position between each bounce, whereas a non-responsive one requires a 'trick' to get it back up.However, the clever part of this yoyo is that it also includes a non-responsive bearing so that you can convert the responsive yoyo to a non-responsive one. This is brill so that the yoyo can grow with you as you become more comfortable with yoyo'ing and want to expand into new tricks (that require non-responsive throws). Not exactly corresponding to this being a yo-yo that can grow with you this one is actually a metal yoyo rather than plastic. This means it can do quite a bit of damage to floors and furniture and other objects in younger, less experienced hands. I do prefer to see the dual purpose yoyos in plastic because of this (like Magicyoyo's K1). This one is metal and so do be aware that it is metal and the consequences of that in case you were thinking of it for a younger user. Obviously being metal means it is more durable though. The colour of this one is brill - a light blue and black effect that is visually striking. As usual it comes with a set of spare strings of various colours, which will last you a while and some instructions to get you going along. Some of the Magicyoyo yoyos comes with a 3-finger yoyo glove too but not this one. The zipped carry case is also fantastic in black with a purple zip. It comes (as usual) unstrung so you have to follow the instructions to get your first string on.You also get the replacement bearing and a bearing puller tool to swap over the bearings.Overall, this yoyo is more expensive than some of its competitors including e.g. the plastic dual purpose K1 but does have the additional feature compared to most of being convertible too from responsive to non-responsive. So you're actually kind of sneakily getting two yoyo's for the price of one. The K1, as an example if currently around £13, so significantly cheaper than the current price of this one.Based on that, this one actually lacks a bit of value at the moment as it's 50%+ more expensive. However, if you like the design, definitely worth it.4 stars from me.

The upgraded V8S Yo-yo by MAGICYOYO is an excellent choice for beginners and the more advanced users, it includes a storage case, 12 x different coloured strings, 2 bearings (1 x responsive and 1 x unresponsive), bearing changing kit & Instructions. The yo-yo is made from Aluminium and it is light to use, the colour scheme is unusual and I like the blue detailing, I also like that there are lots of spare strings included and different bearings to suit your skill level.Overall, the yo-yo can be setup to return automatically or by using a return string trick depending on the bearing fitted, I like that it is light to use and can perform finger spin tricks easily, the case provided offers good protection and everything included can be stored inside, simple to swap the bearings over, spins really well, awesome colour theme, well made and includes good instructions.I hope that you have found my review to be helpful, thank you.

This is a nicely weighted yoyo with a good selection of kit that makes it ideal for both beginners and intermediates alike. It comes with a case, choice of bearings (plus tool) and strings - this absolutely isn't your average cheapo option. In use it feels good and versatile, and I got accustomed to its performance almost immediately. The option to change the bearing is great. The unresponsive was too frustrating for my youngest daughter, so a quick swap to the responsive and she got going in no time - perfect for developing familiarity and skills with the yoyo.A good choice for getting into the world of yo-yoing.

I recently introduced this yoyo to my 10-year-old, and it’s been a delightful experience. The yoyo arrived pre-assembled in responsive mode, making it perfect for beginners. With a simple tug, it returns effortlessly, allowing my child to quickly grasp basic tricks. The yoyo’s dual-purpose design is impressive. By switching the bearing, it transitions to unresponsive mode, enabling more advanced tricks as skills progress. This feature ensures longevity and adaptability, growing with the user’s abilities.Crafted from durable aluminum, the V8S offers a smooth spin and excellent balance, enhancing the overall playing experience. The included accessories, such as extra strings, a bearing removal tool, and a storage bag, add great value and convenience.Overall, this MAGICYOYO is an excellent choice for both beginners and those looking to advance their yoyo skills. Its quality construction and thoughtful design make it a standout in its category.

This MAGICYOYO Kids Yoyo V8S comes with a good quality protective zipped case ,12 multi coloured strings, alternate additional bearing, finger spin hub , axle ,mini Allen key and removal tool. The yoyo itself is well designed ,strong and durable with nice bright splashes of blue on a black background .A choice of coloured strings, simple to assemble and versatile enough to cater for beginners through to advanced players by changing up the assembly. As a beginner it was easy to pick up the spin and return but took a bit of practice to get used to the weight and movement of a yoyo of this size before trickier play.I don’t find yoyos very exciting past the initial interest and learning to control, but this feels more skillful and fun from the start. Almost professional .It would be a great gift for someone starting out on their yoyo venture - high end ,great design and robust .
