Instead of trapping or deleting the raccoons this stopped them altogether they have not come back.

WHY I CHOSE THIS (optional)It was bad enough when the usual rural suspects (raccoons, coyotes and the occasional fox) were raiding the trash cans, but when my horse decided to stick his nose in too, I hit my limit. I needed a way to secure the lids on my plain old round trash cans.THE GOOD STUFF* Simple: it's just one strap with a broad hook on one end and a loop the strap passes through around one of the can's handles.* Adjustable: I find that it's easy to adjust the length of the strap, making for a secure fit over the can* Does the job: neither the varmints nor the pony have been able to get the lid off a can since I started using this. The horse is still rolling the can around like it's a cat toy, but I don't have to rake up scattered trash anymore.STUFF TO THINK ABOUT* The strap comes folded up in a very small cardboard box with no instructions, but it's dead easy to figure out.THE TAKEAWAYThis was a simple, inexpensive, and effective solution to my problem, so I'm very pleased with it.

We have four Toter brand carts. I got one of these to test it out, as we are constantly fighting with bungee cords. This seemed to work great. It was secure and I like that it is adjustable. The hook end fitted well under the lid and the strap seemed secure. Unfortunately, wild pigs knocked over our cart and the lid popped open anyway. This is well made and may work for you, but I think the force of the full cart falling over was too much for the way the hook grasped the edge of the lid.
