Works well but the screw at the hinge falls out after a few months use, the lens frame too - undoubtedly somewhere in a field where the small parts are impossible to find. I’ve had lots over the years and have now invested in a Lichen Candelaris instead. I’d recommend quality over quantity if you’re serious about botany (or whatever else you use a lens for)

You could take this little thing camping and into the woods to have a pee at night if you wanted that's how good the little light is. Great mag and good quality. Well worth the money. You will have for a lifetime.

When I went to Amazon to look for a jeweler's loupe, I was not expecting the minefield of apparent lies and disappointment that many product reviewers bemoaned. After over an hour of research, I picked out this one and was very impressed with what I received. The lens was clean, the hinge tight, the lights work and are bright and convenient, the magnification great for my needs, and it comes with a little key to open the battery compartment, a manual, and a sturdy, if fairly basic, plastic storage case with molded insert to securely fasten the loupe. I purchased the loupe to help verify the authenticity of an old expensive Magic card I had purchased on eBay that's often counterfeited, and it was perfect for this use (the card was real, for those curious).
