I'm not usually a top water fisher, but figured I would give it a try and I'm a big fan of Lucky Craft. Wouldn't you know it, on my second cast, I caught a nice bass on the lake. Now it's one of my favorite lures as its way more fun to see fish hit it on the surface than when I'm fishing deeper.

This is similar to a Zara spook or Zara puppy (which can be found for less than 1/2 as much). One key difference is that this bait sits a bit more vertically in the water. It is a small thing but I think it walks a bit better and is more enticing when the retrieve is paused. I seem to get more hits on this lure than on a Zara puppy so from that point of view I think it is worth the extra cost - especially for a lure that is not likely to be lost. As long as the wonderful paint job holds up I will be happy with this lure.

Excellent top water bait. It glides nicely for walk the dog action. When you stop the action the back of the bait sinks with the top 1/4 of the bait bobbing out of the water. The hook set is real good because of how the bait sits at rest. To date my biggest fish a 6.5lb largemouth ate it with all treble hooks in its mouth (front to back). It took allot of work to land the fish and took as much work to free the lure and get the fish back into the water safely.
