As a symbol worn on the lapel to indicate mourning, or indeed to complete a style for an occasion, it is simply and elegant. It feels like plastic because the gloss is high but it is metal and is secured with a good fitting clasp. I have lost so many pins with clasps but this one is tight and has a firm hold. It is not so small that its not seen but is still discrete and is suitable for a man. I am not so mad on the small glass gem in the feather's stem and I suppose it does give definition and contrast. Overall, it is a good buy in an area of life, funerals and bereavement, that has a dearth of suitable symbols that can be worn.
