My opinion on center channel speakers is usually the bigger, the better. Getting the clearest & best sound from this speaker in home theater is so important. For home theater, the center channel & subwoofer are the most important ones doing most of the work. Surrounds, Atmos, and even the front left & right all play ambient stuff most of the time. When music kicks in then the fronts are more important. Another key for the best sound from a center channel is placement - ear level. I see many that place this speaker either too low or too high, that's going to make the sound worse even for larger speakers.For those above reasons, when I completed my last surround set up about 11 yrs ago (Polk TSI series), the biggest option in that series was the Polk CS20. It was a bit larger than this Klipsch RP500C, with larger woofers (6.5" vs 5.25") and significantly wider and a bit deeper. But basically the same height. I had a custom swivel shelf built to fit that speaker. It's ear level on top of my AV shelf and my TV sits right on top of it. And the swivel lets me turn both the TV & speaker so it's pointing right at me if not sitting centered in front of it. I really wanted to avoid investing in a new shelf & stand overall for the upgrades I made to my system, and it worked perfectly for the AVR & Amps. Unfortunately the largest two center options in the RP series were both too big to fit in the swivel shelf. The 600C just barely too big - as in about half an inch too tall. I began thinking I'd need to rebuild that swivel shelf but figured I'd give the RP500C a try 1st.I had started my speaker upgrades with the front & left towers since I also listen to a lot of music. The RP8000Fs were what I went with & I am thrilled with them. Most people with the 8000s get the 600C, or the super wide 504C.The Polk CS20 actually may have been the best speaker in my prior set up. I had zero issues with clarity or dialogue. But once it was mixed in with the Klipsch RP8000Fs & RP rears (500M) & atmos (500SA), the Polk center's sound quality went from crisp & clear to muddy, in comparison to the other speakers. But the loudness, being able to easily hear dialogue was the part I worried about, how the Klipsch RP500C would compare, especially due to the same amount of woofers (2) and both being about an inch smaller.I was pleasantly surprised how the 500C kicked the CS20's tail in every audible way, including how easy it was to hear dialogue. The tweeter/horn has a lot to do with that. But despite it being smaller it sounded much bigger than the Polk.I'm sure the 600C or 504C would be even better. But not worth the added expense and hassle of a new swivel shelf or the extra $ for those two speakers. For 350 this is an absolute steal. I paid 250 for that Polk 11 yrs ago. Night & day difference for just an extra 100. And at this point, I have no complaints about the 500C and enjoy that improvement vs my prior set up so I'm fine without the larger two options.One other thing I did was prop the 500C up with some furniture feet pads stuck on the bottom front corners. Enough room, barely, to tilt it up just a hair for even better placement aiming the sound to my ears. The Polk was a hair taller & barely fit so pointing it up wasn't an option.So if you have the smaller RP fronts, this is the perfect match if you have size constraints like I do, or aren't sure if you want to spend twice the price for the 504C or a few hundred more for the 600C. If you can fit them perhaps order both & let your ears decide if either is worth the extra $ or not. Even if you have the 8000Fs, if at ear level, the 500C does the job perfectly as well for me. Also overall the RP gen 1 speakers are about half the price of Gen 2 that just came out last yr. The difference is so subtle imo for 2 channel music listening, so that difference is even more subtle for surround speakers. Personal taste in sound & what you're willing to spend come into play, but sticking with all Gen 1 was my choice I am very happy with. If down the road I want to upgrade again, it's going to be a noticeable upgrade due to diminishing returns at these prices. As in RF7 iii or Forte iv. For now & for a while I'm still really enjoying listening to these mainly due to the drastic improvement vs what I had become conditioned to over the years with Polk.One last thing I did that also gives the center channel a nice boost, is I added Outlaw Monoblock amps (two 2220s) for the 8000Fs. Two reasons, for music listening when cranking it, the speakers sound better due to being more power hungry. But the even bigger benefit is now my Yamaha A2A AVR has more power to go around in Surround. The center benefits as do the rears & Atmos. My AVR only has 2 preouts, if it had more I'd consider another amp for the center. In my case & listening environment, nothing is lacking, and if the AVR is good enough once no longer tasked with the mains, I prefer not going overboard on amps & let the AVR power the center rears & Atmos. Just another thing to consider regarding the best performance you can get from any center channel speaker.

I looked at many different speakers before deciding on the RP-500C. The speaker I had before didn't seem to have good voice reproduction. From everything I read this speaker did. One day it went on sale for half price. Well, no brainer, I ordered it. It arrived in perfect condition and looks amazing. So I took my old center channel out and put this in it's place. Then I fired up a 4K UHD movie, and WOW!!! I can hear every voice super clearly. It makes watching movies on my thousand watt RMS ATMOS home theater much more enjoyable. Many times when the action gets really loud and your subs are beating your chest the voices become hard to understand. But not with this baby!! You can understand every word. Plus, it's good down to 50Hz!!! Great Speaker and it fits in my entertainment center perfectly. You can't see it, but you know it's there. What did I do with the old speaker? I tossed it in the trash!!! Highly Recommended.

Hatte den Center als Ersatz für den Klipsch R-25C gekauft, da er tiefer spielen kann macht alles besser als der R-25c, sehr gut verarbeitet.

Nice sound

Super klarer Sound, sehr gute Optik.Die Sprache kommt klar und kraftvoll. Bin sehr zufrieden. Wollte unbedingt ein Lautsprecher mit Kupferfarbener Kalotte (siehe Bild) damit meine Frau zufrieden ist. Betreibe Den Centerspeaker in einer 5.1 Teufelanlage, die Sound ist ebenbürdig sogar ein Hauch klarer.

Veramente un bel centrale, molto sensibile (quindi facile da pilotare), pulito, chiaro senza eccessi come il resto della serie RP. Con il Denon 3600H va davvero alla grande. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo
