My Mother has had a wooden nativity set since I was a young child, so I was pretty sure that this would be appreciated by the family.I let her open the box without telling her what was in it, but it didn't take her long to figure out what scene the pieces depicted.The pieces all feel solid, and stand up reasonably well - although it's very easy to make the cross topple.I couldn't find anywhere on the surfaces or edges that I thought someone would get a splinter from, but the pieces all have a definite rough finish - they're definitely not what I would classify as 'polished'.

Simple but pleasing. The pieces are all slightly different wood. They are a bit rough to handle but nicely rounded. Would just benefit from a little more sanding. The back piece doesn't stand up so well but is OK if placed carefully. Nice item.
