This ring allows you to continue to get usability from your favorite screw-on filters while using the KASE magnetic filter system. Without this, to be able to continue to use the screw-on filter with the KASE magnetic filter system would be somewhat of a logistical pain in the keester. It would require removal of a magnetic adapter ring installed on the lens in use, adding the screw-on filter and once completed with the use, reversal of the process. Not to mention the re-introduction of the risk of cross threading the screw-on filter thereby negating one of the main reasons for implementing the magnetic filter system in the first place. By adding this one simple ring to your favorite screw-on filter, it instantly becomes a viable part of the KASE magnetic filter system and eliminates this risk and allows your investment in the screw-on filter to continue to be useful. I have a couple of these special adapter rings for use in my kit and like the simplicity they bring to my photography. If you use the KASE magnetic filter system and have screw-on filters from before switching over that you could like to continue to employ, then this is your answer.

Was initially concerned that the expensive filters would knock free, but the strength of the magnets relieves this worry - takes some effort!As this would be part of a walkabout setup I also employ a lens hood that shields the filters from sideways knocks.Update:Have been using this product for 5 months now, and it has performed flawlessly; I have reordered…highly recommended!

I wanted a way to use threaded 82mm camera filters I already had with my new FreeWell magnetic system. This did the trick. There are other options that cost more and come with the male magnetic holder, but if you already have a system all you need is the one ring that would allow you to convert your other filters to your magnetic system. It is working just fine attaching my K&F Black Mist Filter, The manufacturers listings would leave you to believe that only their products are compatible with their products, but how proprietary can an 82mm thread be?
