This saree fabric is beautiful. Reading the details online, I understand that it is made of high-quality cotton mulmul fabric, it is lightweight and breathable and drapes nicely. It is extremely comfortable to wear. The pattern is exactly as shown in the product details and it is made by Ikat hand block print. (Ikat is apparently a traditional dyeing technique where the yarns are resist-dyed before weaving to create unique and vibrant patterns.)I'm not so much a fan of the feel of the white trim with the little white bobbles as they are not in a natural fibre (and one bobble has already fallen off) but they do give a good decorative effect.Note that finished look in the product photos is not exactly what you receive, as the blouse is not made - it is a “matching blouse piece” of fabric which you can make into the style of blouse that you like. This is stated in the details, the fault was mine as I just hadn’t read it, but I thought it was worth highlighting it for anyone considering buying. I was initially disappointed because I wanted it ready made, but on reflection I can see that this way is much more versatile for sizing and for design, whether I want to go traditional or more contemporary. And it’s great to have this matching material, it makes a lovely set.I’m so happy with the feel and look of this saree and the fabric for the blouse. My only real drawback is the way it is sent with nothing written on the packaging other than “Jannvi fashion’. I don’t mind so much that it arrives just in a clear bag, as I can wrap it nicely in tissue paper if I want to give it as a gift, but info about the fabric and hand block printing (such as is written here online) would make it a special gift to give and receive.
