This isn't the worst birdhouse pole, but it's far from premium.- The design has far more parts than necessary, especially the squirrel baffle that is made of 4 sheets of metal and twelve tiny bolts. It can be quite difficult to screw in an augur-style pole straight, especially if you haven't assembled the whole pole yet, so can't see how far it will lean, since the long length really magnifies problems with leveling.- The instructions are quite minimal, and I'm glad that I read some user instructions in other reviews, otherwise I would have done things in an awkward order.- And finally, I should have noticed that the dimension missing from the product description is pole diameter. This pole diameter is fine for a really lightweight bird house, but especially at the full 92", I was expecting something with a wider diameter. The pole itself is probably stiff enough, but the diameter of the auger isn't large enough to be sturdy for a 92" moment arm, so I'm worried that if I mount something to it at full height, the wind will rip it out of the ground.

I was surprised at how tall this pole was (stands about 7 ft tall after anchor is driven into the ground) and at how stable the screw auger stakes that go deep into the ground make the pole, even with a fairly heavy birdhouse at the top! The pole pieces are heavy and well coated with anti-rust treatment, and they screwed together easily. Because it came with two types of mounts for the top (vertical and horizontal) I was able to easily attach a fairly heavy wren house that could not be mounted on a horizontal plane. Four screws (included with the pole) through the vertical mount into the back of the house attached the house firmly. It has already withstood several high wind days! The squirrel baffle is a plus--we have so many squirrels constantly trying to raid our birdfeeders, but so far I haven't seen any even try to climb this pole! This really is a good quality pole for feeders or small birdhouses--don't be discouraged by all the pieces when you get the shipment! Just follow the directions--my adult son helped me with it and we had it together in about 30 minutes. It costs a little more than the cheap aluminum poles, but it is much stronger, more stable, more functional, longer-lasting and prettier than the cheap ones are (I've had some of those too!) It's also adjustable--a 7 foot bird feeder would be a little hard to fill, but the pole is made of a number of segments that screw together, so you can shorten it to the height you want. I'm sure this pole will last for years--now I just hope the wrens like the new house!

After taking this out of the box I realized the poles were a bit thinner than I pictured for 92" high pole system. Just my own reaction, not related to any misinformation. So moving on, it screwed together nicely. I mounted my birdhouse onto the bottom of the mounting plate with the screws included. That all went smooth.Next, I screwed the auger into the ground. I did need to do it a second time because it wasn't started straight. My bad.I also had to unscrewed the bottom pole piece to add the prong system to the auger pole. Also to add the baffle. The baffle is a bit of a pain to assemble since I'm use to 1 piece metal baffles, but times have changed. Once in place up the pole at a anti squirrel height, I rescrewed the pole pieces. It's tall, but stands out for birds to fly to it & check it out. Now I need a bird owner.I don't think personally I'd use this for birdfeeders. It would be too difficult to keep it filled. And if it ever came down the birdfeeder would most likely be done in. Just my opinion.Over all, it's okay, particularly using an auger system versus just a spike. It's still worth comparing till you find exactly what works for you. But I'm okay with it for my birdhouse use.

This did NOT keep the squirrels away and it constantly turned/wouldn’t stay tight. I returned it for a refund.
