I'm using this with a Fuji GFX100S II. I live by the ocean and do a lot of seascapes at sunrise and this is perfect for smoothing out the waves, shooting directly into the sun. The filter seems quality - it's made from real glass, not plastic. I'm not sure if the glass itself is tinted or if it's just a coating - the only way to tell would be to purposely scratch it, ruining the filter. There's a bit of a color cast but that can easily be handled in post.It's a bit extreme to be used often but it's nice to have in my camera bag when I need to have a long exposure when it's pretty bright out.

The 62mm optical glass neutral density filter with 16.5 stops by ICE / Desmond Photographic is likely in PRC (china). There is no country of origin mentioned or stated with the product or description. The ND100,000 is dark enough to be considered a solar filter for taking sun photos. I set my camera at F8 with this filter at about 1/500 shutter speed and I get sharp photos of the sun, but a 200 mm zoom, the sun is still a small portion of my frame. This has been an interesting filter to experiment with for daytime long exposures by the lake. I also appreciate the optical glass material. I will also mention I have to manually focus my camera, as the filter is so dark, I have not yet been able to get auto focus to lock in properly.4 stars

I’m very pleased with this filter, it’s made of real glass, not plastic or polymer. Real glass makes all the difference in terms of durability and image quality, and this filter delivers on both fronts. There’s no color cast introduced, which is impressive for something this dark (16.5 stops). It's a nice filter for the coin being asked.It's made from aluminum, which is fine, but there are hardly any 'ridges' around the diameter. B careful you don't tighten this with too much pressure.It gives off a slight blue cast for the trade off of light transmission.Looking at the images provided, the exposure and subject are the same, but the the reds are saturated in a pleasing way. That's the blue casting, and it is visible in the background as well.So it is almost color cast free, but not all the way. I can live with it, especially at the price being asked.Recommended.

ICE has been producing great quality filters for years and this one is no exception. This is a ND 100000, which makes it very dark. Dark enough to allow you to photograph the sun! You absolutely need specialized filter glass to be able to photograph the sun, otherwise you'll burn your sensor. This will be great for any future solar eclipses. I ordered a 95mm so that I could use it on my largest lens and use a stepdown adapter to use on my smaller lenses.Great filter!
