This is an E-Ink display module, 2.9inch, 296x128 resolution, with embedded controller, communicating via SPI interface, supports partial refresh.
Due to the advantages like ultra low power consumption, wide viewing angle, clear display without electricity, it is an ideal choice for applications such as shelf label, industrial instrument, and so on.

Noted:
1. If the e-paper has ghosting problem after working for some days , please set the e-paper to sleep mode or disconnect it if you needn't refresh the e-paper but need to power on your development board or Raspberry Pi for long time.Otherwise, the voltage of panel keeps high and it will damage the panel.

I use this small e-paper display for different Raspberry Pi projects, and it meets all my expectations. I would give it 5 stars if the documentation, for which you need to search the web, were up to date. It is a little bit expensive, but giving it only 3 stars would be too harsh.

Utilisé pour un pwnagotchi, aucun problème avec l’écran, c’est du plug n play tout ce qu’il y a de plus basique et il est assez facile d’y afficher des choses. Le taux de rafraîchissement est assez impressionnant pour un écran eink, je remarque peu d’artefacts suite aux changements d’image. Il est Important de préciser que ces écrans sont assez fragiles et qu’une simple pression sur les bords peut être suffisante pour les détruire, protégez les donc en conséquences (idem pour la nappe le reliant à son pcb qui peut se casser très facilement)

für mein kleines Bastelprojekt als Wetterstaion perfekt geeignet.mit einem ESP32, einem Akku und dieses Display kann man sich eine schicke Wetterstation basteln.würde es wieder kaufen

Ottimo display e-paper a basso consumo, ideali per leggere in piena luce grazie all’alta leggibilità e all’aspetto simile alla carta. Consuma energia solo per aggiornamenti, ma ha refresh lentoConsigliato per applicazioni con alimentazioni a batteria

Display fits perfectly on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W with a 20x2 GPIO header, ideal for building a pwnagotchi. Perfect E-ink display with amazing refresh rate.

Ein wirklich gutes E-Ink Display. Man sieht beinahe kein Ghosting und die partial refreshes sind immer sauber. Einzig beim ersten mal initialisieren, nach einem Neustart, dauert es kurz bis das Schwarz ordentlich und stark an seinen Platz wandert. Die V4 Version des Displays ist mit der aluminum-ice version von pwnagotchi kompatibel. TOP!

Ich habe nun den 2inch1 und 2inch7 Head und habe diese auf mehreren Raspberry Pis durchprobiert. Eine Dokumentation ist vorhanden, besonders gut ist sie nicht aber sie ist da. Für das 2inch1 gibt es ein pip package namens waveshare-epaper, das wird im wiki aber nicht erwähnt, für alle anderen gibt es kostenlose Bibliotheksdateien. Hier sei noch erwähnt, für Python funktioniert es super. Ich hab es mit Rust probiert, das ging aber nicht, c hab ich noch nicht versucht. Die Verarbeitung ist in Ordnung, das 2inch7 ist aber deutlich überlegen, da dort das Flachbandkabel nicht über den Rand hinausragt und man es so deutlich besser in 3D Drucke einbauen kann. Außerdem kommt es mit 4 Knöpfen. Diese sind zwar nirgends dokumentiert bei mir sind es aber die Pins 5, 6, 13 und 19. Meiner Meinung nach ist das 2inch7 Epaper überlegen, auch wenn das 2.1er eine bessere Refreshrate bietet.

... denn:Bei EInk-Anwednungen mag man meist am Strom sparen. Dieses Modul enthält nicht nur wie versprochen einen xV/3.3VLevel-Shifter zwecks 5V und 3.3V Kompatibilität, sondern kann das Modul auch über den herausgeführten Reset-Pin komplett stromfrei schalten. Die Anzeige bleibt dabei (it's EInk) erhalten. Das habe ich anderswo auch schon schlechter gesehen --- hier hat eine/r mitgedacht.

It looks good and is wafer thin. The cables emerged parallel to the plane of the screen, keeping its thin profile.I had trouble programming it because what I was trying to do was a bit tricky so I emailed Waveshare Support. They sent me a customised example, and also replied with a final tip when the example failed, which sorted it.When I had pointed the Arduino IDE at .zip files to install libraries, the IDE told me there were no libraries in the archive. Even when I pointed the IDE at the example zip provided by Waveshare support, the IDE warned there were no library files it it. I don't know if it's a Mac thing or another random computer thing but the moral is always to load libraries even if your computer tells you there are none in the source. And ignore the warnings that are false. Easy!

Bastante buen contraste entre los colores... Al principio daba un error. Pero el problema fue usar el ejemplo v2 mientras mi modelo era compatible con el otro srcipt

Das Display wurde schnell geliefert und funktioniert ganz gut. Da es mein erstes eInk-Display ist musste ich mich erst an ein paar Dinge gewöhnen. Der Aufbau der Anzeige dauert einen Moment, am Anfang ist die Schrift noch nicht gleich gut zu lesen, wenn man etwas wartet wird es aber besser. Da es auch ohne Strom funktioniert, zeigt es den letzten Zustand, nach dem Ausschalten des Pi-Zero, welchen ich daran angeschlossen habe, dauerhaft an. Bis man wieder den Pi-Zero einschaltet und dieser neue Daten an das Display schickt. Man muss darauf achten, dass man die richtigen Treiber verwendet, sonst wird nichts angezeigt. Es gibt wohl 3 Versionen von dem Display, die jeweils eigene Treiber verwenden. Das Display ist auch bei wenig Licht, noch sehr gut ablesbar. :-)
