After installation and Honda lawnmower only needs one or two pulls to start.

If your symptoms are: will not start without starting fluid then dies shortly after starting, this little part, called a Thermo Wax is most likely the problem. The part is ~$9. Remove carburetor and the part is installed behind choke control. Carburetor mounts to the choke control. Remove choke control. The thermo wax is installed in a recess. Heat the area until bubbling occurs around thermo wax. Remove thermo wax by clamping onto it with needle nose plier and pull from recess. Clean recess. Apply light bead of engine gasket maker to new thermo wax and install into recess. Reinstall choke control and carburetor. Allow enough time for gasket maker to set up.

Both are exactly the same and seem to function, however their plungers are 1/8" - 3/16" too long (not like photo). The cartridge body is the exact size though. Even fully pushed into the cartridge, the plunger sticks out about 1/4", which doesn't allow the choke to fully close when cool. The original barely protrudes when cool (like the product photo shows). I can't complain about the price and the fact they function, so I am just going to cut off that extra length and give that a try.UPDATE: Cut off about 1/8” and now works perfectly.

If your lawnmower will not start, this might be your problem. I bought a new lawnmower last season and would not start the second season. Bought this and replaced the part. Fixed the problem.There are how to video's on YouTube that will walk you through this part replacement for your Honda mower. 😊Don't forget to check your gas filter hidden in side the gas hose coming out of the fuel tank. Pull the hose off and there is a inner plastic part in the hose. Pull it out and put a inline filter that one can see through for the fuel filter.
