This axe arrives and the blade is super sharp. Sharper than some knives I've purchased recently.The quality of the axe head is fantastic and the balance is great. Why not 5 stars? The handle whilst perfectly shaped feels thin, and though its meant to last I just have some reservations, if it does I'll update this review in a few years time.

To be honest, I mistakenly bought this Qvarfot axe, but began to love it from the beginning.You need to know, it's a light headed axe, so it will do the splits of wood due to its nice sharp head and your punch, not with its weight. But it will split normal firewood, for your fireplace, but not the biggest ones. For that you will need a bigger axe.But it's a beautifull axe. Nicely built.Right under its head, I wrapped it with a plastified steel wire, because the wood is really vulnerable. You pay the hefty price here, because of the choice of wood too, but the impacts from cutting and spliting are really on a minimum with this axe, due to its rare wood shank. So that is huge, you go and work a whole day and you see the difference. So it deserves that you take care of "her".

Perfect for limbing treesHardly any effort at all, just swing and the branches came off. So impressed!Seems high quality and will last years to come if taken care of… i oiled mine with linseed.Holds an edge well.My favorite axe ever!!

Ich habe diese Axt zum Geburtstag bekommen. Sie war letzte Woche das ganze Wochende im Einsatz. Messerscharf wird diese geliefert. Ich habe damit eine altes Stück (1,4m lang) Kirschholz mit Hilfe von Holzkeilen gespalten. Anschließend konnte man damit die groben und feinen Unebenheiten mit einer Note von einer 2+ / 1- bearbeiten. Ich weiß, dass Sie dafür vielleicht nicht ausgelegt ist, hat dies aber gut gemeistert.Ich würde Sie mir jederzeit Kaufen. Sie kann Spalten, auch wenn die Spaltwirkung nicht die Beste ist, und mit Ihr kann man grobe sowie feine Ackarbeiten verrichten.

Super Allrounder für Bushcrafting und/oder mehrtägige Touren in der Natur. Als Fällaxt ist die Qvafort natürlich kein Spaltprofi, aber dessen ist man sich beim Kauf eigentlich bewusst. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut. Auf Grund des Preis/Leistungsverhältnisses, ist eine Hultafors Axt imho eine gute Alternative zu den Gränsfors Produkten. Aber am Ende entscheidet hier wohl einfach der persönliche Geschmack.Ich persönlich erfreue mich jedenfalls an der Qvafort und bereue den Kauf nicht.
