I was able to easily interface the sensor to an MCP3008 ADC, which sent the serial data to a Raspberry Pi 3B+. The sensor met my needs.I could only perform a rough calibration which was adequate. Position measurement data was noisy but I am not able to determine the source so it may not be an issue with the sensor.

Bought this for my Neato XV-21. Prior to the install my neato was sensing edges about 3 feet from where they actually were causing it to basically spin in circles. So far it's brought my xv back to life.

This one can be used to measure 0-20cm in almost linear or 20cm-150cm in non-linear.The manual can be found if you search "GP2Y0A02YK0F" on Google.
