They cut through the bones on chicken wings well enough but don't always cut the skin. They don't seem very sharp. I found they are better AFTER i used a small screw driver to loosen off the screw on the bit that holds the blades shut when not in use, as it kept catching as i was trying to use them. Its better if you just loosen it off.

I use this shears for cutting up barf (bones and raw food) for my cats and it works fine. However I gave it only 4 stars because I had to remove the mechanism that you use to keep it closed when it is in storage. The problem with this small handle was that it keeps closing on me while I was cutting and had to open it over and over. Without it it works fine.I can cut fairly big bones but when I cut flesh, I need to do it using the tip because near the hinge it is not sharp enough.Overall a good tool for its price.

Like another reviewer my pair were also getting caught on the safety catch, so much so that I unscrewed it in the end, however I also found these weren't sharp enough for the job in hand, it's fine if I'm using the front section of the Shears but anything other than that is not cutting through the bone and only mangling the chicken skin rather than cutting it, all in all disappointing.

I don't know if I've got a dodgy pair of these, but they are constantly jamming and catching on the safety catch, usually at the most inopportune time so I end up wrestling with the chicken and the scissors to open them up again. They're sharp, but they haven't coped well with the chicken backbones I've been attempting to cut. I usually have to cut around the backbone, or use a cleaver. I'm not overly impressed.

I brought these poultry shears for making various cuts from whole chicken easier, and I can say that they did not disappoint. The blades are extremely sharp and cut though bone and joints with ease. The handle is 'high-grip', slightly squidgy rubber so that they do not slip under pressure. All round a great bargain for the price.
