Kein Brummen, kein Fiepen.

I bought this as I decided to fit a Logitech Circle doorbell, which remains one of the few that is HomeKit and Secure Video compliant. This transformer is needed to provide the necessary voltage to power such doorbells. The product overall feels quality and the terminal screws and end caps are sturdy. After fitting, there is no *hum* as you find with other cheaper transformers. It mounted easily into an enclosure and expect it will do its job for years to come.

Funktioniert super. Einbau auf Schiene im Klemmenkasten. Aber anstatt 12V wie angegeben, sind am Ausgang 18V! Für mein zwecks immer noch ok.

Kein Brummen, kein fiepen. Top PLV.Habe allerdings 18 Volt am Ausgang gemessen (bei 3%+3 Multimeter Genauigkeit). Passt für mich dennoch hervorragend.

I wanted a reliable bell transformer and having had Friedland stuff before I opted for this one. When it came it was actually a Honeywell branded one but had the same model number (i.e. E3538N) and when I researched I found the Honeywell is actually the parent company of Friedland, so I wasn't worried.Honeywell also own the great brand of MK too.. all quality goods I have used over they years, so don't be alarmed if you also receive the Honeywell version, it is literally just the branding, the product is exactly the same.I wanted a transformer for surface mounting (it actually mounts on an aluminium plate in my case) rather than the more common versions that mount inside the Consumer Box onto a DIN rail, as they take up two spaces in the box, and I only had one free anyway.I must point out that this transformer CAN be fitted in a Consumer Unit DIN Rail as well, if you have the space, it is dual purpose, but most transformers that are designed to fit in Consumer Units can't be wall mounted like this one, because they have 'open terminals' where the mains side of the transformer terminals aren't covered, dangerous !As I had a similar Friedland transformer before (8v rather than this one which is 12v) it made sense to get a replacement that would be easy to wire in, so that I didn't have to change the wiring - it was literally a matter of swopping over the transformer, took me 10 minutes. One thing that wasn't at all clear in the instructions is that I had to remove the little nylon spring loaded fitting that normally 'clips' the transformer onto the DIN Rail of a Consumer Unit.If you put the transformer flat on a table you will notice the one end is lifted up by the this nylon spring. so I pulled the spring (it is really a strip of nylon in a 'U' shape) out, fortunately it came out easily, then I removed the plastic piece that the spring attached too, but that will literally fall out after removing the spring. You MUST remove both of these anyway, otherwise you cannot get the screw though the 'slot' in tha plastic piece I mentioned, once removed you will see there are TWO screw holes that you can fasten the transformer to a wall. The bottom hole (on the mains side of the transformer) is slotted, whereas the top hole (on the 12v side) is a conventional screw hole.I put a screw in the 'slotted; one first, and tightened it enough to secure it but no more, and I then aligned and put in the screw in the normal screw hole, so I could align it perfectly, I then made sure were both tightened but not overtightened !The final job is to push on the two covers, (they click in place) over the bell side and mains side, so as to literally cover the actual terminals.I did have to widen the cut-out on the mains side cover though, you may have to do the same.Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to cover any problem you might encounter, and that was not covered in the transformers instructions.Still I am very happy with the product and I looks really well, and I am sure will last many years.
