I should have measured before buying. This "fits" a Kamado Joe classic like a teapot fits the Titanic. Sure it is not bigger than, but...Seems sturdy though and I will give it a try. Should still make cleaning easier. But it still needs the cast iron grate to sit on. So I am not expecting better airflow and I still need to move the ashes through that grate.

It's going to sit on a 9.5 in. grate (basket has 7 in. bottom), so when in use there's an air gap that allows air to go up and around the sides.... more air, more fire. I'm happy with it and would recommend it.
