I can’t leave a poor review because I had poor judgment. Visually, it’s as nice as the photos. I wouldn’t say it’s soft… It holds the hon cousin perfectly along with 2 other small journals and has pockets, zipper, and room for more. For me- I discovered I don’t like writing with this. I enjoy being able to lay the cousin completely flat and writing that way- with the semi- hardness of the cousin cover. This is expandable, therefore you’re not going to get a solid flat lying journal writing experience. I’m disappointed that I allowed myself to think I needed this when we all know that just isn’t true. I don’t use this anymore- although, I can see a benefit if I were traveling but as for the value? I would 100% recommend waiting for a sale or choosing a different product. Where I would pay for the cousin itself- this is not that, and doesn’t hold the same value. You can find something less expensive with similar quality.

I’ve used the cover since January, and it still looks like new! The shade of green is just slightly darker than a true emerald. It’s beautiful, and with almost a year of use going in and out of a variety of bags, the office, coffee shops, etc. the gold stamping even still looks like new. I’m not sure about other A5 notebooks, but this fits the Hobinichi A5 Hon (hardcover book) with a clear cover on it, with no problem. There are also LOADS of pockets, and you can fit a thin B6 or A5 notebook in the pocket on the front cover that opens towards the spine. There’s a big back pocket that somehow doesn’t add any bulk at all. The only pocket that caused me any issues was the mesh pocket in the back cover. The way the flap is set up, the back pages of the planner can catch and bend. The pocket is a nice feature, but there are so many other pockets they could have done without it. I placed a pencil board back there to cover the flap. Lastly, the pen loop is huge! You can probably fit two slim pens or a slim pen and slim highlighter. It easily fits a Dr. Grip 4+1 pen, and it slides in any out quite easily. That’s the own I used all year, and I never had any issue getting the pen in or out of the loop. Definitely worth the buy. I may be downsizing my planner next year, but I still feel like it was worth it for the one year I did use it. If you know for sure you’ll use it for multiple years, it’s worth it.

It’s beautifully well made and I love the color. I love the zip around and the pockets.

This review is predicated on the understanding that, if you are interested in this product, you have 70$ to blow and aren't super worried about finances. If that doesn't describe you, than I'd recommend getting an alternative. There is a really nice $20 3rd party alternative. If you're interested in this, it's because you though it looked very pretty and nice. It is both of those things! It feels high quality, the zipper is nice, the product is well built and gorgeous. The inside is nice, although I wish it could store more pens without the exterior looking wildly warped when it's shut. It's clearly built for storing papers in its pockets, not something as thick as pens.

Aber es ist okay, bekomme zwar nicht so viele Stifte mit rein, wie ich wollte. Doch das Buch ist geschützt.

Great fabric texture, smooth and sturdy zipper, inner compartments for extra cards and papers…got mine for 2023 but put in my 2022 Hobonichi Techo Cousin already. It will make traveling with it much more fun!
