Essentially this is just a steel lamp arm. With a few additions. The extra items are what makes it worth the extra money. The head unit is well designed and well made. If you have the microscope that fits into this, and you have a good surface to mount, you will be pleased.

Thin aluminum, easily bent just by moving the arm. Later found that sellers are offering the same exact product on AliExpress for $10.

Ein einfacher und stabiler Arm FÜR Mikroskope. In meinem Fall habe ich das AD407 HDMI 7" LCD-Mikroskop eingespannt. Passt sehr gut und es wackelt nichts.

I purchased this to use with a cheaper end digital microscope with built in screen, after realizing the included stand was more of a limiting factor that initially anticipated. Having the ability to move the microscope around and not just the board, plus working on larger boards, it made sense to get an arm system, and this one fit the bill in almost every way. It has several clamp spots to lock things down when you have the right position, stays where you put it [for now, still early to tell], and had two size options available [check which one you need before ordering].My only complaint is that there are only 2 screws to lock down the neck of the microscope and the are positioned so they are both on one side. This is not a problem when moving the main arm around or when raising and lowering the scope, but when rotating the head around to get a different angle, I keep finding the microscope will "pop" free of the neck clamp, causing me to have to loosen and then tighten those screws again to get it reseated. If the screws were 180 degrees around each other, or if there were 3 screws evenly spaced, I dont think this would be as big of an issue, but with both screws favoring one side more than the other it leads to this issue even when they are both screwed in.Even with that issue, however, having the ability to move the microscope over a larger board has definitely added value to my budget setup vs the stationary base that my microscope originally came attached to, so I'd you are looking for increased function for not a large investment, this is definitely worth considering, since most budget microscope options come with a small base that may be fine for wires and small project boards, but leave a lot to be desired for larger ones like motherboards.
