This play set is awesome! We got it for our son who’s into space and trains, and he loves it. The Mars theme is creative and way more fun than the usual train sets. Between the astronaut figures, the space train with folding wings, and the multi-functional Mars base, there’s a ton to explore. He’s been completely locked in, building missions and creating his own little space adventures.The lights and sounds really bring it to life. When the train passes certain spots, the landing pad lights up and kicks on the shuttle sound effects. The interactive parts make it feel like more than just a toy. Even the glow-in-the-dark stickers add an extra layer when the lights are low. Setup was easy enough and everything feels durable enough to hold up for a long time.Overall, 5 stars because it’s well built, super creative, and just an overall awesome toy.

Aspettative soddisfatte. Unica pecca: nessuna delle motrici è a batteria, ma sono tutte a trazione manuale. Visto il costo, mi sarei aspettata il massimo.

I really like this set, and I love the Hape brand; their toys have always beed good quality and well thought out.I love the space theme; it feels more unique than a traditional train set and open a lot of possibilities for imaginative play. Our toddle is 2 and a half so not quite at the creative play phase but getting there. He loves trains and space, so in a few months this will likely be a favorite toy.For right now he just enjoys helping me build, push the trains/spaceships around the tracks, and taking everything apart.We haven't added the batteries for the sound effect yet (batteries do not come in the set), but I have a feeling he's going to lose his mind when we do.While this is a really great quality toy the price seems just a little high; so if this goes on sale, I'd say snatch it up! When I do compare the set to other similar brands/product the price does seem to be inline with the other comparable brands price points.

This railway set brought back memories of playing Thomas the Train with my son. This one is a Mars them. The ‘main base’ takes three AAA batteries and will make noise as the cars go over it. The pieces seem to connect well and stay together. I wish the blue plastic curved pieces that elevate the train track came in a left and right curve. Both curve upward in the same direction. The workmanship is good. When setting it up I didn’t have any, “Oh, that’s going to break right away” moments. I think the set it a good value and has brought a lot of fun for my grandkids.

I'm a huge fan of the Hape brand, and have been using their toys with all my little ones for many years. They've never really let me down, so when I saw this train set, I knew it would be an excellent birthday gift for my little one. She loves all things outer space, and especially Mars for some reason. Our current train set is kind of a mish mash of like 4 different brands, and that makes it a bit difficult for everything to go together seamlessly. I decided it was time to get a complete set, and I had never seen a space themed train set before so I thought that was super cool. Setting everything was up was pretty simple, but I did have some family members helping so I could do it pretty quickly. The wood tracks themselves seem pretty durable, basically what I've come to love and expect from Hape. It looks just like the photo, but even cooler in real life with all the different lights and sounds. I think I was having just as much fun as my little one playing with this. This set is decently sized, so if you don't have a train table, you will need a big tote to fit this. For the price point, I do think it is a super cool set and has a unique theme. I think there definitely could've been an automated train added to make it seem more like a rocket ship, and just to further elevate the toy and play. I think that would've made the value even more impressive. Overall, we really enjoyed this and it was a huge hit with my little one.
