This product is just a little smaller than most 20x24x1 filters and it meets the manufacturers specifications. The other are very difficult to install or remove -- it's great!

Ordered this past July. I was surprised when I received it because when I opened it up it immediately felt like a higher capacity filter based on its weight and the thickness of the filter material. It's greater than any others I bought including big box stores in those respects. It said MERV 8 on the packaging though and that's what I usually purchase.Both sides of this filter have reinforcement diamond cardboard. The wired side of the filter seems pretty well manufactured since the wire is embedded into the filter instead of just being pressed over it. The comparison photos are to an Aerostar 24x24x1 MERV 8 filter and this Handua brand same dimensions. Counting the pleats there are more in the Handua brand and the filter is thicker. So there is more surface area of filter material on these which presumably means it can trap more stuff over a longer period before it needs to be changed (longer life not increased filtering sizes.) I used 1 filter for about 2 months but we don't use our air conditioner very often so it's hard to say since on average they say you should change your filter every month.Some cons of this brand are the double sides of paperboard reinforcing creates a little extra noise as the air gets sucked over the outer side, through the filter and then over the inner side. It's not a whistle or anything like that, just a slightly increased "wind" sound from others. It's not enough to be bothersome to me however. The thicker filter material decreases the air flow output a slight amount but that means the air conditioner will work a little longer and harder since it seems it can't pull the same volume of air in. To an HVAC professional I'm probably using the wrong words or assumptions but I'm probably also not too far off.Overall I am pleased with this brand. I got it at a very decent price compared to other brands and it seems higher quality to me. I would reorder from them again if the price remains competitive and I would be interested to see if the next batch of filters are the same level of quality. Shipping took a while - I don't remember if it was 2 or 3 weeks. But if you plan ahead that's not really an issue.
