I've purchased a couple of these and really like them. If you use all 4 screws and the included wall anchors, you can mount right into drywall (without having to find a stud) and it is VERY STURDY. I have no concerns.Regarding other purchasers complaints/concerns RE: accessing the mag release to take the rifle down ... This mount is designed to have the right side of the rifle facing out. Mounting to have the left side displayed will cause the mag release button to face the wall, and create more difficult access when taking the rifle down.Keep in mind when attaching to the wall to allow for some "lean/sag compensation". The rifle will pull the muzzle down (horizontal mount) or to the side away from the mount (vertical) just due to the rifle's weight, and the mount's cantilever design. Adjust your drill/screw holes accordingly.

First, let me say I tried the magazine holder out right out of the box. All of my polymer mags fit just fine. No issues at all. I have some 2A polymer mags and Gen 1 & 3 Pmags. No issues at all. I read some reviews that said their mags would not fit and I was willing to return it rather than grind/file to make a magazine fit. Gratefully, that is not the case here.A caveat- you can mount this so your rifle is vertical but, in the case of my mount, you will not be able to store a magazine on it. The magazine slides in and out with zero effort. Just wanted to say that out front, too.Mounted it on my wall in about 10 minutes and it is very solid. I have an ambidextrious magazine release on my rifle and it affords me the ability to store my rifle with the muzzle facing either way. Nice feature as my my rifle has a light mounted on the left side of the barrel and that would have either precluded using this mount or moving the light to the right side. Please keep that in mind when considering this mount. The magazine release is what secures the rifle to the mount. I'm sure you could maybe Dremel out a notch if needed on the mount. There is a provision for a cable lock to pass through the mount to help secure the rifle further from unauthorized hands, which can serve a useful purpose. But I wouldn't consider using a cable unless this was through-bolted onto a very solid wall/studs as I am sure the mount could be pried off of the wall without a lot of effort. My intention is to use this when I am actually in my home. Otherwise, the rifle will be stored in my safe. While not a long-term storage idea, this allows quick access in case something goes bump whenever nothing was supposed to go bump. While I have my pistol on me always at home, this allows a quick, viable option in a worst-case scenario.

Love the product and quality is good. However, when deciding where to mount it, I discovered that if mounted directly to the wall, there was not enough space to get my hand behind it and efficiently operate the mag release to take the weapon off the mount. Basically with my hand behind the grip my knuckles were pressing against the wall which torqued the weapon and made it tough to engage mag release and lift the weapon up.To solve this, I added a 3/4” piece of wood between the mount and the wall (as shown in picture) and now it’s perfect. I’d recommend the manufacturer simply make the base that mounts to the wall 3/4” deeper to solve that problem.
