I use this for charcol, pastel, soft pencil and for generally fixing work and it works well. It does not damage the colour or hue or leave taints and spotting. It will *slightly* change the finish but will save your work and stop smudging. Have been using frisk for over 8 years since I was 15

Works very well on oil pastels, no discolouration. Would recommend..

Does what it says. Used to set oil pastels to prevent smudging and works but takes several coats

I ran a trial with chalk pastels (Faber Castell) - lots of solid colour and on ordinary W&N cartridge paper. Just one good spray of the fixer and it was smudge free. Very surprised since other fixers needed more coats. The original colours haven't darkened. Also the colour hasn't bled through the paper as other fixers did. I also made some lines and writing with the black unipin pens I used for line sketching and the fixer didn't react - other fixers have reacted badly. Surprised and and pleased with the frisk fixer and will use with more confidence on actual sketches and recommend to others.
