This kit is wonderful for anyone who wants to learn C or micropython. Iand there are other tutorial online that you can use for the ESP32-wroom-s3. Like making a security camera, using YOLO. Or getting notifications when the camera detects someone.IT a good way to start and touch other stuff to from the kit like the motor, led, button, joystick. and more.

Current price point at the time/date of this review: $56.95 with no discount/coupon being offered. Pricing is generally fair and on point all things considered and when taking into account the number of assortment hardware pieces of functions accompanying this set.Comes with a camera among many other types of useful hardware to being the process of building out whatever the heck you plan to do with it which is why I love this set as it allows you to constantly expand and work with these pieces in a modular manner. You’re only limited to your imagination as so much is provided in this starter set.Fun to dive into and experiment with. Seems like it came with all the pieces but there are so many it’s difficult to verify until I get to it with my next project. Seems to work just fine.

Second time round and I'm returning immediately. This is the second time I've bought from FREENOVE and it will certainly be the last. External packaging was fine, but the plastic box inside was cracked. Then to add insult to injury after checking the contents I found parts missing and I am 100% convinced that it had been previously used as the pieces inside were not packaged as they should be. Waste of time, money and effort.

Freenove was helpful when I had questions for them and they talked with me every day till the issue could be solved. The tutorials are nice and are a good introduction into setting up the board. I mostly enjoyed using the micro python section since they recommend a very easy to use program called Thonny. The reason I liked it much more than the Arduino IDE is because I can see which codes I have uploaded to the board and easily only delete what I want from the board. So far I was able to get the board to blink, connect to Bluetooth and send messages, connect to wifi, and also use the board as a wifi camera for bird watching. There are still many many more things to do with it, and I enjoy learning new things.Probably the only thing I wish was better was the number of micropython tutorials. A note to any new buyers, if you want to do the camera wifi stream, you have to follow their C code tutorial and use the Arduino IDE, the micropython tutorial did not go that far. Unless it gets updated by the time you purchase it, not a deal breaker at all just a tip. I personally use both, and enjoy using the micropython mush more.How the Freenove board implementation it better than others:1. Camera quality was much better than almost all of the video example I could find on Youtube, It mightjust be my fast wifi, but maybe also the more powerful chip and higher psram.2. Their board has two USB type C ports, which lasts longer than micro B ports.3. Their board has a built in CSI (Camera Serial Interface).Freenove as a company:1. They respond to your emails.2. They help with troubleshooting steps, or returns.3. They made a tutorial for their board and kits.4. I enjoyed talking with them about the weather :)
