I actually didn’t get the new n utterly amazing ETSC2 125 here on Amazon , but would still like to spread the word on this platform about how downright out of this world Festool’s new sander is!I own quite a few of Festool’s other outstanding sanders, but when this baby came out, I knew I had to get one. The cordless option seemed great, but what really blew me away was the ingenious LED ring .Festool has done this before a few years back with their new n improved version of the Planex drywall sander, and I , as did probably many others, was just aching for them to implement the same technology on one of their smaller hand sanders.Nonetheless, I did have my doubts as to whether the light on this thing will be as effective as ,let’s say ,their surface control light , the STL 450 Syslite( item no. 201938) which I own and use quite extensively when doing any fine finish work, where the quality of the oiling and final sanding/polishing is crucial . That thing takes some time n care to setup correctly though, and you’ll also wanna get the tripod n adapter, and will need ample room for that entire setup.Well, lemme tell y’all, that worry got thrown right out the window once I started using the ETSC2 !!! It IS absolutely downright amazing , the LED ring is SO effective at lighting the workpiece that I think I will have a hard time going back to my regular sanders, as fantastic as they all are in their own right! This one has become my favorite sander instantly !!Now ,if you’re wondering about how this cordless sander handles with a 4.0 High-power Battery , then I’ll tell you that it feels absolutely perfect in one’s hands, I did not feel any significant difference between this one and its corded counterpart the ETS/EC 125/150,It just rides beautifully and easily on the surface!I will say that, at least for me, the battery life was a bit dissatisfying, it seemed to gobble up the 4.0 Ah battery’s life pretty quickly , but I had an idea and hooked up one of my more powerful, albeit heavier, 8.0Ah batteries .I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the sander still handled pretty friggin great with that huge battery on it, and it didn’t seem like that much of a difference in terms of hand fatigue or strength needed to sand with that one. I’m guessing if one is doing a lot of overhead sanding then ,maybe it would become more of an issue , I dunno …maybe not, gonna have to try that soon,… but if it does ,having a few 4.0 batteries at hand will solve that one. It’d be great if Festool indeed come out soon with an AC adapter, similar to the one that’s available for their ERGO batteries, but even if they don’t, this sander is a must have in my opinion for anyone serious about their finishing . It is truly a game changer !!!Now if you’re deliberating between the 125 or 150 option, know that the 125 can take 150 pads , but it doesn’t seem to go vice versa, so think about that prior to deciding. I have all the 150 pad types , so after using the 125 pads for most of my sanding n oiling/buffing , I switched to the Hard 150 pad, strapped on a 4000 grit Platin paper, and did a quick n easy polishing pass on my workpiece.I also used the ETSC2 with the Surfix System n Vlies pads, to buff after each oiling pass. This sander is soooo perfect for those kinda tasks , both its’ features shine out, so to speak✨😎😉, when doing this ,because:1) you don’t need to hook up a dust extractor for these tasks, so the cordless feature becomes even more useful, and..2) the LED gives you such a great view of the situation of the workpiece , every imperfection, scratch, or blotch of unbuffed oil will immediately be exposed and can be immediately taken care of.I highly recommend the ETSC2 !!! If you’re new to Festool , or If you’re a Festool Junkie with tons of their previous sanders and deliberating if this one is worth the cash, my say is a definiteOh Yeah!!Thanks again Festool for another outstandingly awesome machine!!!🙏🏻🤠💪🏻👍🏿😎❤️🤍💎🌑🐉🐚✨❄️🌕🌹
