I recently made a mitre saw bench and an assembly table and the bench has a 12mm ply top and a 30mm thick upper section (18mm MDF and 12mm ply) with dogs in it. The table has a 38mm top (18mm MDF and 18mm ply). This worked flawlessly on all three surfaces and left a very repeatable and regular chamfer. I have a few of the UK bench dog brand tools and their dogs fit holes perfectly which this. One thing I noticed which was fantastic is any holes that get a drip of glue or paint in, this reamer makes them work just like new without taking lots of material off like a drill bit or forstner bit would.Great tool and cheap! The chamfer insert is indexable and will have four more cutting faces which is great for laminate and MDF surfaces which will dull the cutting edge.

I ordered this off Vine because I'm a woodturner/woodworker, and I have an immediate (well, nearly immediate) use for it. I'll be replacing my main work bench top shortly, and that means re-drilling a whole set of 19mm holes for the bench dogs. Using this I can quickly, and easily chamfer the edges of the holes, meaning placing the dogs in the hole will be easier, and the edges less prone to chipping. I'm not ready to replace the top yet, but made a few trial holes, and it works a treat. Nice clean chamfers. When I do the bench top, I'll probably do the drilling on the large pillar drill, prior to building, so the chamfers will also be done on the pillar drill, meaning they'll be even and clean. You can use this in a cordless/corded drill, but it does add a little weight.
