Works great for everything you could want to do with a huge knife. Solid bulletproof construction and sheath and hardware are amazing quality as well. Steel takes and keeps a great edge. 100% would recommend.

I Love the knife. It feels like a extension of my arms. I glad I bought this knife. Now I got a good addition to my collections.

After putting nearly one year of hard work into this blade and reading and watching countless others who have done the same, I can say that the Junglas is the greatest production big chopper on the market today. The handle is amazingly soft, but grips. The center swell and back contour create the perfect handhold for maximum leverage. Hold the blade this way when chopping, and the full length and weight of the blade absolutely slams into wood. The full flat grind allows for a more manageable weight and provides maximum bite. The blade is expertly balanced. Rowan’s 1095 is heart treated to as low as 54 Rockwell. Comparative to super steels, edge retention is low, but I’ve sharpened it back to razor in under 10 minutes using a few DMT plates. You WILL have to stay in top of this edge. The upside to this specific hardness is a blade so tough you can run over it with a cement truck. It has excelled for almost two seasons of chopping and splitting seasoned black locust, one of the hardest domestic woods in America. I have NEVER chipped or rolled this edge on wood of any kind, no matter how hard or dry. And although I do enjoy Ontario Knives, the Junglas’ black coating lasts months longer. The sheath is near equal to custom kydex with dozens of mounting options, and adjustable tightness.Keep in mind that this blade is much heavier than a traditional machete. I consider the Junglas more suited for heavy chopping.

I did quite a bit of research online through various sources before purchasing. I've been very impressed with the knife, and it meets the hype.I typically hate black finishes on knives because they don't hold up. I still don't but this knife has the toughest coating I've ever seen. Chopping doesn't scuff it at all.For a large knife, it comes sharp enough to shave with, and seems to hold its edge very well. So far its lived up to all of the reviews. Its a cool looking knife and the grip material was a great choice. Its not the prettiest thing its made to actually use, and use hard. If you want a knife to use, buy this one. If you want something to fondle in your house, get something else. The sheath is high quality, functional and flexible. The reviews are correct with this as well.Great knife, and worth the money.

Incredible BEAST of a knife!!! There's so much good to say about this insanely good camp/survival/end of the world knife! I now see why SO many people swear by ESEE knives! The craftsmanship of these blades is second to none. This is true, good ole American craftsmanship and obviously built by people who are skilled and take great pride in their work. They're not just throwing junk together and collecting a paycheck. The blade is thick and very strong and comes out of the box sharp enough to shave your arm hair. It pulled the hair a little but with a handful of passes on my spyderco sharpmaker it was smooth and just rolled the hair off! This thing is scary sharp for being as big as it is. The handles are beautiful and offer great grip. The thing that really impressed me with the handles and showed me just how handcrafted this knife is vs just an assembly line wonder was how the micarta handle scales are ground completely smooth and flush with the tang. There is zero overlap of metal or handle anywhere! It's just one continuous smooth surface which is great if you're using it hard because there's no areas that can create hot spots in your hand. The sheath is also truly out of this world quality. This would easily be a $70+ sheath to buy separate. It is thick, sturdy gauge kydex and has triple retention if you choose to use them all making it military certified for a jump knife to parachute with. It has a large drain hole at the bottom along with many rivets down the sides to attach other equipment to it either by screws or paracord.I've only gotten out into the woods with it once so far but it EASILY chopped through a fairly freshly fallen spruce tree about 4-5" in diameter. The first swing sunk the blade into the tree almost to the spine of the knife!! Then the next swing completing the "V" in the wood sent a massive chunk of spruce flying into the air and leaving a very deep V notch in the tree. Within a handful more chops the tree was in two! I cleared the small limbs off the trunk with just light swings and it went through them like they were warm sticks of butter. I choked up on the handle and rested my forefinger on the flat spot just in front of the handle (I do wish it had a small choil there) and was able to easily carve feather sticks like it was a 3-4" blade! Very easy to control and do fine work with which was amazing since this is such a monster of a blade. Then for the final test I used a small spruce limb to baton the knife through two logs about 6-8" in diameter and a foot and a half long cleanly and easily splitting them into two. This thing REALLY shines in batoning wood and splitting down large logs into smaller, dryer pieces. The most amazing part of it all though is that when I was finished chopping and batoning all that wood it still had a razor edge on it!! It literally lost NONE of it's edge even after hacking and chopping several large pieces of wood! ESEE should be very proud of this extremely capable, do it all, just badass hunk of steel the produced! Oh and none of the finish was worn either. It was dirty and had scuff marks but they all scrubbed off and left the finish still looking new.

Made in the USA, lebenslange, bedingungslose Garantie, perfekte Verarbeitung, alles unter 5 Sternen wäre nicht angebracht.

Unglaublich handlich, scharf, perfekt austariert (auch lt. "Profi"meinung von Freunden) und eine wirklich brauchbare Scheide ist auch dabei - Messerherz, was willst du mehr!
