This has all the usual scientific, statistical and complex number functions, and is simple to use. Layout of keys differs from my usual fx-83ES go-to calculator, but that in itself isn't a problemThe carbon-fibre-like case below the function keys make it really difficult to read the secondary functions on my desk (with over monitor LED lighting), though the main keys are readable (sin, cos, log etc)As is usual (and I have no ide why) this comes with fractions as the default (so 3 divided by 4 = 3/4 and not 0.75) This for most practical purposes is utterly useless (YMMV)Simple to fix though :Shift - Mode - 2:LineIOValue - a little pricey compared to the main competitionMy reviews follow this star rating (abridged)** Significant deficiencies, does not fulfil its expected functions*** Average product. Meets expectations**** Very good. I like it and it's a quality product***** Excellent product, exceeds expectations

This calculator is a great tool for students and teachers alike! It's packed with features, including fraction and decimal point conversion, and the large display is easy to read. The solar battery is a nice touch, making it eco-friendly and convenient. While it might take a bit to get used to all the functions, it's a reliable and durable calculator that can handle a wide range of math problems.

Packed with functions but takes a while to learn how to use some. My needs were for very basic trig, which is simple. The calculator is nice to use, about the size of a phone but lighter weight. Light-powered and with a backup lithium cell that is recommended to replace after 3 years.

This comes nicely enough boxed with a very comprehensive manual and case. The calculator itself is light but looks good with brushed buttons and textured finish.I chose this for my son's maths CGSE's. The calculator can display complex formulas onscreen and can do a huge range of equations. As someone else said in the reviews though, it is very hard to figure out how to get it to show decimal points instead of fractions on basic equations. I've spent about 40 minutes reading the manual and still haven't figured it out.I think for school it is great, but for having on your desk at home trying to tot something up, I'd look elsewhere. It's too complicated for that. If you need a very advanced scientific calculator though, it looks great, has a case, a clear English comprehensive manual and is very light and solar powered.

I do a fair bit of surveying and calculations based on that in the course of my job - nothing too heavily mathematical. Its mainly geometrical calculations including aspects of trigonometry so I require a scientific calculator.I ordered this one for my van after leaving my old one out in the rain. It is much more sophisticated than my old one was (it was and ancient Casio something or other). The big difference is with the display which is a double lined LCD screen. It can do fractions, equations and differentiations on screen which is a big change from what I'm used to. Fortunately (for me) I only use a very limited range of the scientific functions as I am fairly mathematically illiterate beyond what I need to know to work out surveying calculations. The calculator itself has a huge range of functions (417 apparently), like all calculators most buttons have second and third functions accessed with the shift button. Navigation is pretty logically arranged but there is a 70 page instruction manual to help you find what you need (thats 70 pages all in English, not multiple languages). It is well made, and the screen is very clear with adjustable contrast. It has a clip on cover which protects the buttons and screen which the body slides into both ways so you can store it when the calculator is in use.Is powered by a solar panel or (non rechargeable) battery so its unlikely it will run flat on you. All in all, its a great calculator - more advanced users may find functions it may not have but for me, I will never use more than an tiny amount of its capabilities. I'd say at £17 it's realistically priced.
