DS18 typically has really great products and this speaker is no exception. I placed this speaker in a small pod and installed it on my can am and the clarity is awesome. I've had it for a few months now and it is a pretty impressive speaker for the money. The sound quality and bass is awesome and it's unmatched compared to many other 8" speakers put there. It gets really loud and the music is very crisp and clear. I honestly wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. I would highly recommend this speaker because of the great brand and quality. It's awesome!

Mid-bass loudspeaker. This does not put out sub bass or much in the way of highs. It is made to put out mid-bass frequencies for isolated cases. With a large magnet, strong basket and good voice coil, along with a layered cone and dust cap this is a nice looking and great sounding speaker. At it's rated frequency range it is very clear and crisp. The bass heard is accurately reproduced. The fit is spot on and at 8" it puts out a good amount of sound at 150 watts RMS. These are not general purpose speakers, they reproduce a specific frequency response range. They are good value for money if building a separated sound system.

This is a very efficient, loud midbass speaker that excels at what it promises to do, which is cover the midbass tones. Build quality seems good with a rigid basket and nice cone. It’s heavy, so be sure you have some support for it. Plays up into the treble range if needed but will not do low bass, which it’s just not designed to cover. Take care in setting up your crossover with this one. Note, these are sold as single speakers, not a pair. A quality speaker from an underrated brand.

I love car audio. I don't know why the bug bit me so hard, but it did. I own an older Jeep Wrangler and it's loaded with audio gear. I have multiple amps, a subwoofer in a custom box, a DSP, custom speaker pods for my dash, all sorts of things. My weak point was my midbass. It was being pushed through two inexpensive 6.5" speakers that weren't keeping up and one finally failed. I wanted something bigger to push more bass so when I saw these speakers I had to try them.These are listed as individual speakers. If you want a pair you have to buy two.These are really great midbass speakers! I'm familiar with DS18 but I was very impressed when I saw the included the tech specs. They publish the full T/s values for this speaker, which really helps when designing an enclosure. It's a great sign when a company puts in this kind of effort.I built custom fiberglass kick panel speaker pods for these speakers. I tried to get as much volume in the enclosures as I could. The sound quality is amazing! These are designed for midbass and that's what I have them running. I can only comment on the bass, but it's solid, tight and powerful.Overall I'm very happy with these speakers. The midbass is tight and powerful, the kind you can feel in your chest. The size is perfect for the spectrum they're trying to reproduce. Great deal!

This was a bit of an experiment for me. I needed a small portable speaker cabinet to use with my bass head.After building a cabinet and installing the speaker I was ready to test it.It works well. I am using it for low volume practice as well as putting a microphone in front of it to record.I like the tones I get from it. It is working great for me!
