These quick disconnects are a common failure point on many gm vehicles produced through the 90s. I have used this fitting on both my 97 1500 with a 5.7 and I've also recently used one on a 97 Lumina with the 3100. Note: Old formula dexcool will eat the plastic insert and plastic o-ring in these causing leaks. Not sure about the new dexcool formula because I always change it out for the regular green type.

This fit and worked. I thought about doing the mod that a lot of people talked about in the forums but I figured I would just keep it the same and just replace what was on there before. If you are attempting to fix this yourself on your Chevy engine block I would recommend being very delicate when taking these off as the last thing you need is to break it with the thread still inside. I wish this was made of a better metal, would've loved to spend a few dollars more for stainless steel but you get what you get with aftermarket parts.
