I work in construction as a BMS installation engineer. This means I often have to cut lengths of Unistrut to mount panels or hand tray and basket. I used to cut everything by hand, or even borrow a chop saw or cold saw from a colleague where available, but this is the absolute cream of the crop. It cuts so smoothly I don't even have to file it afterwards! The weight is fine, even with a 5AH battery on it, and the lack of a brushless motor doesn't seem to hurt it at all. The only thing i'd say is let the tool do its job. I've seen people racing to cut through Unistrut with it and it burns the blade out in no time. Set the blade in place, seat the back plate against the unistrut, pull the trigger and let the weight of the saw do the pushing. Forcing it down onto the cut will get it to go through faster for sure, but at £30 per blade, I don't think it's worth rushing the literal 3 or 5 seconds it takes to get through the top part of the cut, and then fly through the two sidewalls of the Unistrut as if they were paper.Amazing bit of kit, and very much worth it if you cut anything up to 2" in width. I fully expect this would slice through 2" tray even better, although i've not used it on any yet.

I use this only for wood so it might be helpful to tell others who have asked about its use on wood. The throat depth is limited so you cannot cut far from an edge but I have just cut a curve on a piece of English Yew and the the result is a very clean and smooth surface. It was a bit heavy and cumbersome to manoeuvre around a plank of wood but the effort was well worth it.

This Bandsaw for me was a great buy and it lived up to all my expectation. I needed to go out and cut up some 3” box section into portable lengths that I have a use for. Without mains power it would have been a pain to say the least, but armed with my Dewalt portable bandsaw, it was an easy job. Very pleased with this purchase and I am sure I will use it a great deal in the future.

This is a cracking bandsaw. Powerful, dead-on accurate and superbly built. It is (relatively) light, beautifully balanced with a 5Ah battery fitted and ergonomicaly perfect for one handed use. I read all the reviews, compared it to other saws of similar price and chose the DeWalt as its specification met all my needs.I am delighted with this compact and very efficient bandsaw and, as an added bonus, (and not mentioned on the website), my saw was delivered with the saw blade guards fitted.A fantastic bit of kit.

Was looking for a "shop" (I say "shop" I mean garage) chop saw.But, I don't have the space for a dedicated saw.I'm doing "hobby" stuff and the biggest chunks of metal I want to get through are at a push, 2"first time I fired this up was to get through a 2" square chunk of aluminium.I wanted to cut it vaugely square to reduce time in the mill after.The balance of this is excellent.You hold it, relax and it'll cut properly vertical.It's not a "shower of sparks" device and not horrifically noisy.it just cuts, in a measured manner and doesn't spray crap off into the boonies.very impressed.nice cut, nice blade, no fuss. Does what you expect.
