Updated: changed from two stars to four.In the Amazon images you see on this listing there is a QR code to install an app to control this device. On an iPhone it's called FanLamp Pro by Shenzhen Jing... So it turns out, you can lose the remote and still control the device:---------------------------------------------------The fan and light work great. Here's why I give it two stars.You must use the remote in order to use this as anything but a light.I ran the fan on level 6 (no light), then turned off the light switch. When I turned the wall switch back on, the fan did not come on, only the light.If the remote goes bad or gets eaten by the dog... you are screwed... unless you want a bladed light.And, no surprise, the manual was not authored by people whose native language is English, but it is good for a laugh.

Very well packaged and installation was under a half hour. Attaching the tiny screws to the fan blades was probably the challenge using a small cross point screwdriver. The only downside is the Android app was flagged by Google as not being trustworthy. It does not exist on Google Play store so i didn't install it.

Amazing amazing amazing couldn't be more happy ...came on time, everything is plastic including blades. Super easy to install ....has multiple light setting and fan settings ...fan is so powerful it blows the papers around in my room .... only thing I can't figure out is how to get it on my phone ...failed with many attempts but qouldnt connect to my phone come with remote so you don't have to get out of bed to use it!
