This adapter makes install 10minutes or less. Simply remove rear mirror housing, disconnect the dimming mirror connector, connect the adapter to car, reconnect the mirror to adapter, connect short throw cable included, secure the dongle with double sided tape and your done. I completely invisible install that is no fuss having to run down pillars, no need to identify and tap into fuses..etc.Use this if you DO NOT need continuous power for parking modesUse this is you want quick easy and invisible installUse this if you don't want to run wires down pillars and through your dashUse this if you don't want to tap into fuse systemI installed on MY24 Volvo V60 Polestar with Viofo Mini 2 and it works flawlesslyI also tried Model B that connects to the humidity sensor but I found that when I was charging the car power was being supplied to the camera even when it was locked and off. So while Model B states "Recharge" in the description - I'd just go with the Green Model A cable as it works perfectly to power on and off with the car as expected.

I used this to power a dash cam in my 2019 Volvo XC40 using the power line for the auto dimming rear view mirror. It was super easy to install. The overhead console cover pops right off and you can locate the correct connector to hook it up to by the green color. It made for a very clean dash cam install. I absolutely recommend this for Volvo owners who want to power a dash cam without having to deal with hiding a long power cord under the headliner and a-pillar covers etc.

Works like a charm!This is precisely what I was looking for - the cleanest solution to running a dash cam so long as you're okay with loosing parking surveillance while the car is powered off. This installed easily on a 2024 Volvo V60 Recharge Polestar Engineered.The hardest part of the entire installation was getting the plastic housing off of the rear view mirror. It is used to connect a VanTrue Nexus 4 Pro dash cam. The unit powers up flawlessly once the car is powered on, and turns off once the car is powered off. I managed to fish the USB C wire through the factory slits on the rear view mirror cover so it looks about as close to factory as possible. I'm not sure if other reviews mention it but this unit also comes with a usbC, mini usb and micro usb cable. Awesome solution!
