I do not claim to be an expert when it comes to all things electrical, but I knew if we plan on using the camper year round, we needed to do something to ensure the holding tanks didn't freeze up. I got the DaierTek tank heating pads because it is a set of two and can easily cover the entire tank bottom. The listing is up front in that the DaierTek heating pads are specifically for a 12v system. It's important to confirm that before purchasing the pads. I didn't install ours, but I'm told it was super easy and the directions were very straight forward. It's a bit late in the year, I don't expect we'll get another hard night freeze again until the fall, but it's reassuring to know we're going into this winter with a vastly reduced chance of frozen lines. We liked this one so much, I'm told we'll be getting another set before winter. We love that it's got the thermostat attached and turns itself on and off as needed. This is a worry free system. Easy to install and works on all types of tanks we have in the camper. We'll be back for more and pretty sure a few of our camp neighbors will be back to get some for their rigs. 10 out of 10 for DaierTek!

It came without instructions. The kit includes a fairly nicely made metal plate to hold the three rocker switches for each tank (I suspect they are lighted when on but I did not use them), three quick-connect wire connectors (also did not use), and three heating pads. The pads have a relay that kills the connection if it is warm. These are exposed to the weather and will not survive for long without protection (shrink wrap would be my suggestion). Compared to other much more expensive heating pads, this one is no match. Basically, it's a thermal wire put on top of an thin adhesive so the wire is placed very close to the tank itself-almost touching it. Testing it on the bench, each panel uses 3.5 amps so three of these will draw 10.5 amps at full rate. Using an IR thermometer, and by-passing the cut-off relay, it got up to 155F quite quickly and seemed to level off there although it may keep going up if I waited longer. It seemed hotter in some spots more than others. For what appears to be very cheap materials, I'm not sure I'd trust these to be left on all the time and definitely would not expect them to work for long term use, however, if installed and manually turned on and off occasionally it will do the job to heat up the tanks if the adhesive doesn't fail. But be aware that if there is no water in the tank the tank could be damaged. For me, if I get into a situation where I needed these, I would use them if I had to, but I don't camp in below freezing weather often. If I did so very often or lived in colder climates where the use is critical, however, I can not recommend these panels. There's too much to lose if they don't work correctly or fall off. The cheap quality and I'm fairly certain fake 3M backing would not likely hold up for long term use.

Nice tank heater set! I am using it in my coffee trailer and it was super easy to install (peel and stick) - no instructions but pretty obvious with only 2 wires. Adhesive is good (3M) and my only concern is the overall size of the heating pad vs. the length of each of my tanks. So far good!! Control panel switches and plate are well made - good quailty. Easy install.

This review is for the DaierTek RV Tank Heater Pad, I'm very happy with the performance of the heating pad. The 12-volt 12" x 18" pads fit perfectly on my three water tanks and the two thermostats are meant to ensure the water stays warm when the temperature dips below freezing. Installation was straightforward, and when testing the pads they heated up quickly. I have full faith they will keep the water from freezing this winter.

Yes these are easy to install. Yes they heat the tank. My concerns are with the attachment points. I feel that if the tanks are anywhere that will have any movement then there will be a separation of the wires from pad. Extra care needs to be made by the company as well as the installer to prevent this. The wall switch is nice.
