My favourite pencils. My original set is used up so im pleased to be able to repurchase. The pencils are Gorgeous for life / portrait/ urban sketching. I’m not a fan of the white…its a bit weak but ok for blending. For stronger white highlights i use white chalk or white inktense.

These were a treat to draw with. They go on very smooth and blend beautifully using Derwent blending pencil, alcohol pencil blender and Prismacolor colored pencil blender. Nice case.

Gute Zusammenstellung, etwas hoher Preis. Das Weiß sollte als bessere Farbabgabe haben.

Buenos productos "al aceite". Relativamente fácil de difuminar, tonos intensos...una sola pega: no combinan bien con el grafito.

These are a lovely set of oil pencils in a set covering the classic colours used by the Old Masters for drawing. White, Sanguine, Light Sepia, Dark Sepia and Black in Soft and Extra Soft. They are better quality than the ones made by Daler Rowney and in a wider range of shades than those offered by Lyra unless one buys a very expensive box set.I find they show up best on a toned grey or buff paper or make an interesting alternative to pigment ink with watercolour. They do however demand a reasonable amount of confidence in use as they don't erase easily and are best left undisturbed. They are especially good for life drawing and architectural subjects. Unlike other brands replacement pencils are available in open stock so the attractive,well designed, silvery tin can be replenished when necessary. (I do sometimes wonder at the dimensions of German's pockets though since mine don't easily accommodate a 18cm x 5.5 cm tin.)These are a more controllable and less messy alternative to Conte crayons and I recommend them to anyone wanting to experiment with a limited tonal range.
