Tenía dudas de si mereceía la pena gastarse dinero en un ventilador nuevo, por el portátil ya es viejito y no quería invertir en él, pero me alegro haberlo hecho. El cambio es relativamente sencillo y el ventilador encaja perfectamente. Ahora ya no hace ruido y podrá estirar la vida útil de mi HP 840.

Firstly, to get to the fan, you have to remove quite a few screws and bits from the back (there are some good youtube videos on this). Replacing the fan is straightforward once you get access to it. Having installed it, all seemed well. After awhile, I noticed that if I needed to move the screen panel or close it, if the fan was running; the movement pressed against the fan and you could hear the fan blade rubbing against the casing. I reseated this a few times but concluded this is either a problem with this particular fan or the manufacturing. Returned this one and bought an OEM one which had no issues at all.
