When the filters arrived, I measured them at 9.5 in by 9.5 in across. Normal 10x10 filters are closer to 9.75 to 10 in across. These are definitely undersized. Fortunately, the normal ones that you pick up at the hardware store are a very tight fit in my 10-in ducts. The return vents we're installed in such a manner that sheet metal screws go in sideways into the wood in the ceiling. This means that I normally have to crush 10x10 filters a little bit to squeeze them into place.So the good news, is that these go in easily. The less than good news is that there is 1/8 in gap all around the edges. However, it seems to be sealing well against the face and with any luck these will last as long as the hardware store kind. Materials of construction including the filter material, the expanded metal mesh to support it, all seem rather typical of the breed for a mid-priced filter.
